- The character's name is Gomez

- The trailer doesn't show you what happens immediately after: you respawn a short distance away, much like Knytt Stories

- Straight from the mouth of Phil Fish: "There are no enemies in FEZ. No bosses, no combat. In fact, no conflict of any kind. You can die, but there is no penalty for doing so. FEZ aims to create a non-threatening world rich with ambiance, a pleasant place to spend time in."

With the lack of any meaningful penalties for death, death may as well not exist.

im actually fine with no combat, bosses and death being meaningless. im pretty sure the collecting part is going to be rather challenging though, im at peace with this.

How can it be challenging if death is meaningless and the puzzle solutions are easily forced?

the puzzle is the world, the solution is finding all the blasted crystal things. dude its a 800ms point game, the $ to time/fun ratio is fine. i actually expect many of the crystal pieces to be deviously(sp?) hidden.

Games are not goddamn kitchen appliances. They are judged by how their quality stacks up to better games. Not how much "value" in units of time they offer for your money.

some people judge games by their length

if I had a choice between a mildly amusing game that lasts over 50 hours over a amazing masterpiece that only lasted 2 hours, I would buy the former over the latter

It's actually bold to take out enemies in a video games, most devs are scared of messing with the ancient blue print laid down by super mario bros
