how many letters are there per page in the tome? if there's 64 then why not apply the squares idea someone suggested per page? so 1^2 = first letter of page, 4th letter of the page, 9th letter of the page, etc? Not sure if this has been suggested already

im talking about using the squares to find out the input for the monolith room, since there's 8 pages + 8 numbers in the sequence, if there's 64 letters per page it makes sense that it might be a clue....

Here is something interesting:

If you look at the big symbols in the tome, they are on the red letter cube, without any transformation or rotation at all.

I.e., the faces on the red cube, as you see it in the inventory, is made up of P, A, E, B and U, which are the same as in the tome (and L which isn't used).

This has given me an idea. it doesn't work exactly, but could it be to do with what you have to press to see each letter on the letter cube?

Here was my first failed attempt:

you press A to bring it up at first with P facing,
Then various combinations of LT RT to get to B, then you move the camera up to see the U, then down again to see the B, so I guessed

Jump RT RT LT RT RT Up Down. That didn't work, but it might be along the right lines.

there's one of those in the room behind the 4-door. stand in front of the door that leads into the black hole room and look right down.

That's the five concentric circles. As far as I know there are 8, with only the one containing 4 missing.

As posted earlier in the thread:

1 circle - Starting Village
2 circles - At the top the arch-like island off of the first "warp" area. This island was used for one of the treasure maps.
3 circles - On top of bell tower
4 circles - ?
5 circles - Prehistoric village
6 circles - Crying waterfall island
7 circles - "Future" village past
8 circles - "Future" village present


The 4 concentric circle pattern can be seen on the tree that's at the top of the pyramid island that has the heart cubes inside. It's occluded by the "black hole" as of now but still can be seen a tiny bit. You can see it more on the thumbnail in the map, it clearly has 4 squares. Could this have any connection to the black monolith?
