I started a franchise just last week using Knight's Roster. I play on Hall of Fame difficulty with no change in the sliders. I simmed spring training and I have made no trades as of yet because I want to play about 20 games and see what my team is lacking/missing. So far I have an 8-8 record and I have a tough schedule ahead.

Opening Day Lineup:

Batting Order

L=Lefty R=Righty

#1 LF Fred Lewis (L)

#2 2B Aaron Hill (R)

#3 DH Adam Lind (L)

#4 CF Vernon Wells (R)

#5 RF Travis Snider (L)

#6 C John Buck (R)

#7 1B Brett Wallace (L)

#8 3B Edwin Encarnacion (R)

#9 SS Alex Gonzalez (R)

Bench Players

1B Lyle Overbay, C Jose Molina, SS John McDonald, RF Jose Bautista

Starting Pitchers

1) Ricky Romero

2) Shaun Marcum

3) Marc Rzepczynski

4) Brandon Morrow

5) Brett Cecil

Relief Pitchers

LR-Brain Tallet

MR-Shawn Camp

MR-Josh Roenicke

MR-Jeremy Accardo

SU-Jason Frasor

SU-Scott Downs

CP-Kevin Gregg

Current Lineup:

Josh Roenicke sent down to AAA because of high ERA and the fact that I could use another lefty in the pen

Jesse Carlson recalled from AAA

Travis Snider got moved down in the order because his batting average is around .150

Jose Bautista has taken the spot of Edwin Encarnacion as the everyday 3B.

Keep Encarnacion. Anyone that used to be a Red is amazing. I liked him, and was sad when we traded him, but I like Scott Rolen a lot better, plus he was born in my hometown!!!

Im keeping Encarnacion for now, I'm just putting him on the bench because Bautista is hitting better.

I won my last game 4-3 against the Rays in 13 innings. Tied 2-2 in the 13th, I got a solo shot off of Chad Bradford by Alex Gonzalez then followed that up with a double by Molina and a single by Hill, scoring another run. Heading into the bottom of the 13th with the score 4-2, I bring in Gregg and he gives up a run and almost blows the save.

Final Stats:

WP:Kevin Gregg (1-1), LP:Chad Bradford(0-1)

HR's:TOR-Snider,Gonzalez TB-Zobrist

My record is now 9-8 and I have 2 games left in the 3 game set against Tampa.

How is Snyder doing for you? He hit an OPS under 0.500 in the preseason for me so I have him starting in AAA.

On top of that, how is Overbay doing for you. He is striking out an annoying amoutn for me (and I play in manager mode for my franchise)

My only other issue with the Jays? Way too many lefties. Occasionally you hit those teams that are all right handed bats and I am loathe to play my southpaws.

Snider for me is hitting in the 5 spot and has been there for preety much the whole season so far. I have played 20 games and he is batting around .180 with 3 HR's and 9 RBI's. He has the worst average one my team but about 40 points and is struggling, but I do believe in his ability to turn it around.

Oh, and in talking about Overbay, I just lately began starting him because I had Wallace up before but I sent him down to develop. Wallace was hitting .320 with 1 HR and about 7 RBI's. Overbay so far has about 30 atbats and is yet to hit a homer but is hitting around .250.

The jays do have alot of lefty starters and I ended up having to send down Rzepcinski because his ERA was just above 7 and he couldnt locate his pitches. I brought up McGowan because he had a 3-0 record in AAA and his ERA was just over 2 down there.

For me Fred Lewis is amazing. He has a batting average over .500 after 20 games and is leading the league in batting average. I mostly drop down bunts with him toward the third base line and he is always safe.

Ive played 21 games now and I am thinking of making a deal. Im thinking of possibly trading Gonzalez/McDonald, Overbay, Frasor, and Encarnacion.

You guys have any good players I should get in return or just any trade suggestions in general?

I brought in Span to play right field and set the table as leadoff. He is all kinds of awesome, especially if you like bunt singles and stolen bases.

The jays need a catcher. I sent one of the AAA A potential pitchers to Cleveland for Santana.

What are you looking for? You seem to be dropping your starting third, short and 1st base- do you have Wallace and Snyder in the bigs? If you put Wallace on third (not a good spot for him) and snider in left or DH then you have plugged some holes. If I were you I would go ahead and convert Wallace to first (I think you did) in which case your main issue is short and third... Encarnacion not doing it for you, eh? I have Gonzo/MacDee and him batting 7, 8 and doing... acceptable enough. Gonzo is starting strong and I like a good glove in short.

Your 2 through 6 hitters are in good position and promising, you probably have Lewis as leadoff... If I were to do anything I would get some speed because Lewis is no gazelle: Bonifacio (FLA) or Gardner (NYY)... A guy I have always liked is Punto... he's not too sure what to do with the stick but his glove is incredible.

As for third, I'm not too certain... my other teams I had Sandoval and Zimmerman so I never had to look for third base guys... I'm currently sticking it out with Encarnacion but am interested in a prospect third for below him.

Don't like Frasor as your closer eh? He's been good for me. Move him into a setup role and promote Downs to closer... if you are going to pay him like 6 million anyways, may as well be worth it. He is horribly overpaid in the setup role IMO.
