Sonic 4, is it worth it?

#11edward18Posted 2/22/2011 12:01:39 AM
No, if one episode isn't worth a certain amount,

It is.

then 3 times that episode won't be worth 3 times the same amount, even if that's less than for a retail game.

Considering we have no idea how the rest of the game will turn out, there's no basis behind saying "3 times"

Hum, no. You can have S3&K on Sonic Mega Collection for 10 bucks, in addition of all other Sonic games and more. I agree that 16$ is expensive for a genesis game, but still, S3&K remains a classic and is worth it. It has 25 original acts, awesome bosses, great music,

Knuckles mainly had awesome music. 3, not so much other than Hydrocity and Ice Cap.

Sonic 4 on the other hands doesn't have any original act; they're all rehashes from old acts (Green Hill, Casino Night, Labyrinth Zone and Metropolis).

And still remain fresh and good.

Even the bosse are almost the same.

Just as fun to fight as ever.

The gameplay and the physics are very criticized (for a good reason).

not really, considering they're alright other than how fast Sonic reaches top speed.

The music goes from good-average to just plain terrible (casino street 3 comes to mind)

...that was one of the best tracks of the entire episode, and the whole episode has amazing tracks.

and only lasts 30 seconds (shorter than any genesis sonic game).

What's length have to do with how good it is?

Some of the design ideas are very strange, like the torch puzzle in the labyrinth zone.

The ghost deactivators in Sandopolis, the drum in Carnival Night, the shifting land in Marble Garden...

Ok, I completely disagree with all your statements. If you like Sonic 4, that's for the better. But I think I explained very well why I was disappointed by it. This is completely subjective so there's no point in arguing.

i'm okay with Sonic 4 but it would have been better if they released the game as a full instead of episodes. It's only worth it if you wanna experience the classics again, but they still complain about the physics changing which is stupid. But yeah so many haters in the Sonic fanbase already to critisize the smallest things in the game such as that.

Actually the physics are a huge part of the game and so a huge thing to complain about.

I actually agree with some of you guys, it is pretty expensive in comparison to other "remakes" like Mega Man 9. I still haven't tried this game, lately I've been more glued to my Nintendo DS. Thanks for keeping this bumped for so long though.

Also, I already own Sonic 1,2, 3 and S&K on the Sega Genesis, so there's no need for me to pick up Sonic Mega Collection.

I said "remake," not remake. As in, similarities to their counterparts.
