I'm dissapointed in the gaming community....

CD Projekt RED adamantly rejects DRM and speaks out against it, so what do the people of the internet do? Pirate the game 4 million times.....

This is idiotic and shows that people are simply greedy. A company like this should be rewarded for offering quality content and not selling its soul in the process. They don't believe in ripping off players for DLC, or installing DRM in their content, so we should support them. Honestly, I'm just disgusted....

It is humanity we are talking about. Humanity on a whole is a disgusting phenomenon. It is evident both in the game and in real life.

Well, the game had sold over a million copies last I heard. That's not bad for a PC exclusive, with highish system reques, from a small time European developer. Does it even have a demo?

Of course CDPR deserves support for treating gamers well (and, of course, making a good game), but I don't think people should be so hung up on how many times a game was pirated, especially when there's really no way of knowing how much higher sales would have been if the game couldn't be pirated at all. Focus on how many units were sold, and on how to make that number go up.

Also bear in mind that some people might pirate the game before they decide to buy it. I actually met a few of those, and in earlier years when I didn't have a job, I did that too.

For a PC-exclusive niche RPG, it sold incredibly well.
Try getting the sales figures for Skyrim and try finding out how many times it was illegally downloaded. It's just as disproportionate as this one.
Heck, even WoW has a very high population on private servers which is comparable to the official Blizzard realms.

It's the unfortunate reality of us as a species, but we can at least rest assured on the fact that we reached into our pockets and paid these guys their well-deserved money. I'd buy this game ten times before deciding to buy those DLC and expansion-filled crap people spew out nowadays.

I read about BF3 getting 3 expansion packs this year alone, not counting Back to Karkand. I'm just glad I got a 75% off coupon on the main game, and I refuse to throw more money at EA to add a couple new maps every 3 months. It's ridiculous. I remember back in the BF1942 days where new maps, vehicles and weapons came for free. Oh well, the good old days.

Makes me glad to see CDPR "sticking it to the man" with their lack of DRM, and free content updates.

Their stand is truly a blessing.

It's a rare sight to see that developers actually care about players in positive manner other than greed these days.

There's no point complaining about what other people do, they could sell it for $1 and people would still pirate it. If you've bought the game then you have already done your part in supporting the company.

I'll be honest, I really considered pirating this game as I'm broke as hell right now. The main reason I haven't is simply because of the developers and the way they treat gamers and PC gaming in general. I'm gonna wait until I can actually afford to buy this and the 1st one before I play them.
