I just can't comprehend how people found the prologue hard.

Rolling is overpowered as hell, and the enemies are so slow they can't even catch up to you if you run.

Anyway, a question, but am I supposed to only have 5 talents at level 6? I heard you unlock the other trees at level 7 and you need to spend 6 talents to get level 7 so I'm really confused. I only spent 5 talents so far.

The prologue was much harder when the game was released, the difficulty was toned down in a patch. I think you have 5 talents at level 6 because you get your first point at level 2.

Generally people found the prologue hard because the enemies don't just roll over and die like in most games, Geralt can't block attacks from all directions, you only start with two vigor, and when the game was first released, you weren't told what each sign did, you were just expected to know. Further, getting hit while you were attacking would cause Geralt to stumble. Since you were stumbling, you'd probably get hit again. Since you just started, you're now either near death or already dead. To top it all off, you could start off an immediately fight the dragon. I admit I made that mistake. There's an option that says "dragon," why would I not pick that?

Now the game has a tutorial (I haven't played it, but I presume it explains what each sign does), and it's been rebalanced so new players can make mistakes and not instantly die.

As for your question, I think you start at level 1 with 0 talent points. This means at level n, you will have n-1 talent points. The other talent trees will unlock, and the menu will automatically zoom out, and the other trees will flash when they unlock. I think they will unlock after spending 6 talent points, but I never paid attention to be honest.

Really? You can't comprehend how the very beginning of a challenging game that has different combat mechanics that they've never used might be difficult for them? That is hard for you to "comprehend". Man, if only we all were such naturals at every video game immediately like you.

I doubt there is much you CAN comprehend. Moron.

the devs nerf'd the prologue pretty hard, the current one is not even remotely close to the difficulty if was on release. i played on normal the first time when the game came out, the part where the dragon is flying over you shooting fire was the worst, 50% of the time i would get 1-2 shot before making it under that very first sheltered area or if i didn't die there it was during the transition to the second sheltered area, and that was on normal.

the other day i started a dark mode playthrough and did that part in 1 try, and it was easier on dark mode than it was on normal back on release day

Eh, yea, sorry that was a bit rash. When I drink I make posts like that, and I was drinking at the time.

But seriously though. One of the memes I want to eradicate is "I did this, therefore everyone should be able to do this" (and of course ~p, ~q works too, ~=negative).

I had trouble with the prologue. I did not know what the hell I was doing. It took me a good while to get any kind of good fighting dynamics down.
