No. You get only the satisfaction that you annoyed the person.

Jeez, what's the point of PvP then if you get nothing of value out of it? Anyone remember the good ol' days of Ultima Online when your corpse could be picked clean?

point of pvp is to assert your dominance and to pvp. You do not need looting or rewards to have good pvp.

The last thing games need is an incentive to ruin other player's day.

maybe so but you never could do a HK, and no way for someone sneak behind you to gank, plus any attack you do shows a msg saying you are being targeret, and everyone runs in the same speed, plus the red named when died cryed a lot for losing his equips having to search fora red priest to res him and without the good equips he had plus can't be using banks and such are a harsh penalty for pking someone.

also in UO its easy for you recoup what you lost, everything you need is crafted, and craft is not combat depend, you can just mine hunt for leather and make things(well maybe dragon armor) and please no one in his right mind would walk around with his house key.

also that was all before insurance was placed and the trammel/feluca thing, so its is real a long time ago

FOR HONOR, FOR FREEDOM.... and some money

On PvP-enabled servers, PvP is one of the ways that vanarchs for each of the 19(?) designated areas are determined. In exchange for spending all their time collecting and spending vanarch points to enable/disable certain game features as they see fit, the vanarch and his/her guild collect taxes from the AH and NPCs in their controlled area.

Some modes of PvP (Battlegrounds and Rifts) will allow you collect points to exchange for nifty PvP gear/costumes.

You can block off some dungeon entrances, monopolize BAMs, block off some routes in and out of towns, and strike fear into people with PvP.

PvPing also enhances your e-peen.

That's through BG, You get Vanarch through Battlegrounds or getting voted in.
