Leveling a Lancer right now, and have all my gathering professions leveled with me. Was just curious if it was worth it to spend the money on leveling Armorsmithing or something. Or is it just a pointless gold sink?
If you can acquire all the runes needed to make your set, you won't need to farm dungeons to get blue gear. Armorsmithing and Weaponsmithing both use ores, and they're easy to gather so you can just mine a ton of them then use em.
Only profession that's broken right now IMO is leatherworking.
Another thing worth mentioning is that--if you care about cosmetics--crafted stuff constitutes the majority of things that can be used as templates for remodeling your gear's appearance. Crafting recipes also come with an optional second recipe that uses the item you crafted plus extra runes to make the item gain the staged enchantment bonuses at the cost of a few base stat points.
Also, getting paverunes of titans is a pain in the ass.
