Topic. This can be a reference to beginners as to what to choose though there are many good ones and play differently.
Some that come to mind are Lightsworn,Zombies,Blackwings,X Sabers,Infernities,Gladiator Beasts,Perfect Herald and Frogs.Add any that i did not include.

I personnaly think that the Elemental Hero is a pretty good archetype, not because they have near-broken effect (which is not the case) but because most of their strongest cards are inesanely easy to summon. Who made an Elemental Hero deck and never summoned SHining Flare Wingman with the easy Sparkman+King of the swamp combo?

Of course, that is only my oppinion

Also, In WC2010, I've had little trouble early in the game with Ice Barrier and Ally of Justice monsters.

This topic, by design, would lead new players down arguably the most discouraging road to defeat that exists. The end of the road is discovering months later that every deck you've build has no potential whatsoever. The first step down the road is forming the habit of selecting a deck type first and building top down, as opposed to finding synergy between cards/effects first and building bottom up.

There are so many things wrong in this post.

I would just like to point out that Frogs are NOT a good arch type any more as their most important card (Substitoad) was brutally murdered.

I would also like to add Dragons (more specifically Disaster Dragon) to the list.

Say what you want, but I've always thought Ancient Gears to be a very powerful archetype.

...
Ok maybe not "always". It wasn't very competitive before Gear Town >_<

I like the AG a lot but on their own they are not very good except maybe in a Machina Gear deck which i have used in the past.

What's the point of this topic? No matter how good an archetype is, unless you gain experience using them, then the whole archetype is like using a deck full of lv 5 or higher.
