FAQ: Wii vs. PS360 Differences For Importers

#1TokyoBassistPosted 8/18/2010 1:21:33 PM
I thought I'd make a small FAQ for my fellow NMH fans that might be concerned about the major differences between the 2 versions and so importers have a reliable way to decide on their purchase.

- The upper-most island of Santa Destroy is completely off limits now. All Lovikov Balls are relocated and scattered on the mainland now making them easier and less tedious than before.
- Heavenly Star is no longer in the game and is now replaced by a loud garage punk song incorporating the NMH riff within it
- (JP PS3 version only) The game censored. While its doesn't detract from the actual gameplay (actually easier to see without the blood splatters), It really ruins 90% of the Ranked Fight death scenes. Check youtube yourself for death scene comparisons from the EU & NA versions on Wii.
- Lack of motion controls doesn't hinder the experience because you're essentially doing the same thing with or without it. If you REALLY want to be baby about it, the recently announced NA version for PS3 will have it available with MOVE compatibility. JP version doesn't currently have a MOVE support patch plan so purchase accordingly
- Very Sweet mode basically undresses the females to a bare minimum (not nude, stop asking). The difficulty itself is identical to Mild.
- Armchair is a new feature in the motel that lets you rewatch cutscenes in Dream and Nightmare lets you battle previous bosses (can be used to attain trophies)
- The loading times are worse but it'll show you how spoiled we've become with the seamless loading in other games. More than likely it'll be alleviated with Konami's release.
- (JP PS360 version only) Brand new lip-syncing and Japanese VAs grace the ports. This some small and neat that wasn't even on the JP Wii version
- Trophy/Achievement support. I got my platinum trophy in 3 playthroughs with about 40 hours logged in. Fairly simple to do. If you need descriptions of the trophies go to this link: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/no-more-heroes/46898-no-more-heroes-paradise-trophy-guide.html

Well I hope this helps everybody and get the game regardless of platform! This game is a satire on the American gamer (i.e. most internet forum trolls) and has good dialogue to boot. Now go forth and enter the garden of madness!

@spookykid

Given that the Euro release just got confirmed to be uncut so its highly likely we'll be seeing uncensored for sure (the US Wii version was the ONLY uncut version made).

They make the announcement just after I got the JP version of the game. Game plays fine even without the blood and Move compatibility, but if they do fix the load times in the EU/US release then I'll be pretty gutted >_>

Any ideas if the trophies will be separate to the EU/US version, like in the case of Demon's Souls?

I've been wondering, with it now being compatible with the Move, will they still include the regular controller setup? I sure hope they do, just worried if they are trying to push Move they might end up taking it out.

Any word on this TokyoBassist?
