I should note that you don't really need to play the games in any specific order, save I and II, but those games nowadays are almost always bundled together so it shouldn't be much of a problem.

In fact, the best versions of I and II are coming to the PSP in English early next year in a nice bundle called "Ys I & II Chronicles".

Avoid the DS versions, as they were ported horribly.

Yes, definitely getting the Premium Edition of I & II Chronicles next year assuming XSEED releases one, got the Ys Seven one and getting The Oath in Felghana one, might as well complete the collection.

Now Falcom just needs to remake IV and V as those are the only 2 I haven't played, and port Origin to PSP, and have XSEED localize them.

Hey, I can dream.

I know.

I think that Falcom should take the best elements of Mask of the Sun and Dawn of Ys and make a final, definitive version of Ys IV in the Oath in Felghana style. Mask of the Sun was okay, but felt a bit dry, while Dawn of Ys thus far is pretty great (I haven't finished it yet) but non-canon to the official Ys storyline.

I would also love to see a port of Ys Origin, as I have yet to play it.
