Zodiac's Prophecy Vs Hoplite's Anti

#1KensyuPosted 10/13/2010 4:29:22 AM
I find the prophecy spells more effective than the hoplite's Anti-elementals.

For 2 reasons:
- no equipment requirement
- does damage

Both stops damage anyways as well as used with anticipation.

Just tested this theory against the Thunder dragon and it was quite effective to use prophecy as a means to stop his elemental attacks.

how many points are recommended for each element? should I max them? seems impossible for me currently because of the level cap...

@Kensyu: And how many points do you need to get all three prophecy max? 60. What about Phalanx? 35.

It may work, but my Zodiac is too busy to use them. In the other hand, my Hoplite is pretty much provoke every 3 turn and attack.

@Vallxtreme: You need to max the skill to block all elemental damage. (Lvl 9 of Hoplite skill block 55%, Lvl 4 of Zodiac skill block 90%)

Will the monster which uses the elemental skill be of that same element, so that the reflected damage is not as effective?

If they are different, then the prophecies will be really useful, because according to the skill simulator, the damage % is higher.

just checked the skill sim, and holy crap at the amount of skill points needed to at least get 1 point on each element! oh well, might as well stick to the items. How much do they block compared to the skills anyway? they helped me countless times already...

You only need 1 point in prophecy for it to block 100% of the damage.
Adding more only increase the damage done back at the enemy.

Point wise it breaks down to this for 100% block

Hoplite:
Shield Mastery: 5
AnitFire: 10
AnitCold: 10
AnitVlot: 10

Total 35 points:

Zodiac:
Fire Mastery: 5
Ice Mastery: 5
Volt Mastery: 5
Fire: 5
Ice: 5
Volt :5
Binary Fire 5
Binary Ice: 5
Binary Volt: 5
Fire Prophecy: 1
Ice Prophecy: 1
Volt Prophecy: 1

Total:48

Yes it is cheaper to go the Holite route but on the flip side you get decent attacks with the Zodiac and the same blocking power. Pick what ever you like more.

hmmm... maybe I should put my extra points here, after maxing Charge on my Zodiac/Glad, I dont have any idea where to put the remaining points, so during 4th-6th stratum which element/s should I focus first?

Zodiacs have a pretty common build

Ether Mastery: 10
Fire, Ice, Volt Mastery: 1
Fire, Ice, Volt Star: 1
Ether Charge 5:
Singularity: 5
Dark Ether: 5

This is a good basic setup for any Zodiac afterward if you want to go for Meteor add on these.

Ether Return: 3
Horoscope: 5
Meteor: 10

This will make a Zodiac that will last you a while.

Ice block is nice but noinessential on Second Stratum boss. You don't need these skills until postgame (in which case you can easilly Rest->Scylla RNG the 5 levels back).

Rejoice the antgonists this Thanksgiving. Without the Noirus or the Ammy, how can we appreciate the Blitz?

Yeah, although you can drop more points if you want an all-target spell. I went that route for the Ant Queen for instance.

And Meteor is stupidly powerful when compounded with Charge.
