So chapter 8, The Gate... *Spoilers until that point*

This is starting to bother me, and I know it's silly, but is there really no other way than to bomb the soldiers with the white phosphorus? I've been trying to beat the part the old fashioned way, by just shooting them, but they apparently just keep on respawning.

I mean, until this point there's always been a choice as to how I can go through with these situations, and I really don't want to burn all those guys like they burned those resistance members last chapter. Guess I'm just soft like that.

So, is there a way to beat them regularly, or not?

To quote the dialogue in this scene:

Lugo: "There is always a choice""

Walker: "No. There really isn't".

That should provide your answer.
