The Bible is not at fault; false religion and peoples unwillingness to live up to Biblical standards are.

Keeping the Old Testament around doesn't exactly help things. It allows for some very extreme cherry-picking.

Not really. Youve probably read at least some of the OT, whether you believe what is written therein or not, the wars between
the Israelites and other nations were Sanctioned by Jehovah (psalm 83:10) who had promised those territories to the Israelites some 400 years prior. The lands were occupied by people who sacrificed children by fire, and had been given that much time to change their ways. Even then, the Israelites had to cleanse themselves before they could
stand before God as a people again.

King David was forbidden from erecting a temple to Jehovah by God himself, citing that the king had shed much blood. Obviously violence wasnt a good thing even when God allowed for it.

without the bible in the first place most of the law wouldn't have been made, and we would have not seen what was right and wrong in the first place.....

Obviously violence wasnt a good thing even when God allowed for it.

Allowing it and ordering it are very different though.

I'm not saying the people that they killed weren't "bad people", just that ordering your chosen people to kill "everything that breathes" seems at odds with the message most Christians want to teach.

without the bible in the first place most of the law wouldn't have been made, and we would have not seen what was right and wrong in the first place.....

And today, when nations follow the laws set out by the Bible we call them barbaric.

Can you prove that he didn't? You all appear to be under the fallacious and ridiculous assumption that Jesus couldn't possibly have existed because the Bible claims he was the son of God and performed miracles. Just because you don't believe in miracles doesn't mean there's any reason to believe a Jewish guy was never born.

Exactly this. I'm not remotely a christian or generally a fan of them, but I'm not sure how you can deny he existed. There's a big leap between him having existed (which I'm pretty sure has been proven) and him being a magical demi-god. poke_123rules posted...

Are you trying to say that morals, laws, or common sense didn't exist before christianity or the bible? Because that'd be a pretty insane belief.

The only way to learn about corruption from the church is by witnessing how corrupt those who attend really are. Sin all week and repent on Sunday.

Jesus as a man probably did exist. Jesus as the bible describes him definitely did not. That much is proven by all the laws of science.
