Originally, Batman Arkham Asylum was supposed to be an 'interactive movie' style game where you fight by pressing the buttons in a rhythm (like some Rock Band game) to attack and counter.
They kinda scrapped the interactive movie idea but the combat somewhat carried over but is more manual and less like some QTE. --- There is no such thing as a "Quick Time Event done right". A game that has Quick Time Events is a "video game done wrong".
