Bugs or just really Securom protection acting up? (accidentaly closed othr topic

Accidentaly closed other topic, oops. but

You know what, i wonder if these are really bugs or just the Securom protection acting up. If you remember in Arkham Asylum, Securom protection did everything it can to give pirates h3ll and make the game unbeatable, it removed the ability to glide, it removed grappling hook in some areas, it added invicible walls, etc.
Heres some report on that

I really wonder if its the same situation here except Securom cannot differentiate the legit game from a cracked one, it might be intentionaly doing everything it can to make the game unplayable because it thinks we have a cracked game. Maybe its doing the following

(SPOILERS)

-Cant access/use weapons in Ras al Gul part (cant save Talia)
-Savegames getting deleted
- this http://community.batmanarkhamcity.com/forums/showthread.php/10736-Weird-Chamber-of-the-Demon-bug
- this http://community.batmanarkhamcity.com/forums/showthread.php/10807-(Spoilers)-My-PC-version-of-Arkham-City-is-making-it-impossible-to-continue
-this http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/982135-batman-arkham-city/61147460
-this (Maybe. My theory on this one is Securom might be deleting random files as to make the game unplayable.) http://community.batmanarkhamcity.com/forums/showthread.php/10784-Can-t-play-due-to-missing-file!-steam-version
and many more..

But yeah Securom is already acting up for people with the retail version, giving all sorts of install problems, even making the game impossible to install because Securom thinks the actual DVD ROM is a virtual one. I myself coudnt install the game because Securom was getting triggerd by a few programs i had, it crippled my DVD ROM and woudnt let me install my game untill i deleted these programs. Its possible Securom is getting all confused, getting triggerd by all sorts of things, causing these "bugs" to happen.

I haven't had any of those problems (I have the Steam version), but considering the game hasn't been cracked by pirates I can only assume you're right and the copy protection is screwing with legitimate customers. The ironic thing is, if pirates do crack the game you can probably apply the crack to your retail version to fix all the securom issues.

I just confirmed that this one was triggerd by the use of a trainer. Securom detected that and activated all security. So yes its possible all these bugs are caused by Securom going crazy.

So is there anyway to get around the Chamber of the Demon bug if you were using a trainer without starting over? I can't afford to right now as I am very tight on time...

Atm no, trainer is a form of cheat/hack so Securom goes crazy over it and activates its security stuff. Your gonna have to turn off the trainer to make Securom happy im afraid. There might be a fix out there, but i cannot advice/suggest it as its not exactly legal i think, i dont wanna get banned lol.

But my problem is, if I run the game again, even without the trainer now, It pretty much screwed my save and I am stuck in that room with the invisible wall and I can't get anywhere. I really can't start the game from scratch, I didn't realize that the legal bought copy would have so many issues...

There hasn't been a crack released so no, no one complaining about problems is a "pirate". It's just another story of DRM ****ing over legitimate customers.

Yay for the ignore function, I hope there's no limit.

Im afraid youl probably have to start from scratch, yeah its a pain in the *** that we legit users get these problems, DRM thats designd to stop pirates is actually hurting legit customers, ridiculous. But it does look like they made the Securom stronger this time, it doesnt tolerate anything, its having false positives all over the place getting activated by things that shoudnt even matter, triggering its protection methods causing problems in installation and ingame.

Well looks like I will be starting over, from what your saying and what others have said, it looks like it was the trainer screwing things over...
