Registering Game to EA: Code is not valid for game

I picked up my copy of Dragon Age 2 at 10:30am EST today and immediately started obtaining all the bonus items that EA offers. Specifically, if you register your copy of Dragon Age 2 to your Bioware Social Network account you receive:

Boots of the Frozen Wastes
Fadeshear
The Lion of Orlais

However upon trying to enter my 12 digit UPC code (located on the back of the game box and manual) I get the error "Code is not valid for game. I tried and tried making sure I had done everything correctly before I finally contacted an EA Chat Agent. Copy and Pasted:

2264548894: I just purchased Dragon Age II brand new about an hour ago and I'm trying to gain access to some of the bonus in-game items by registering my copy of Dragon Age 2 to my Bioware Social Network account.
2264548894: I log in successfully. I go to Profile -> Register Games. I scroll down to Dragon Age II for the PS3 and click "Click here to register game." It asks me to provide the 12 digit UPC code located on the back of the game box (same code is also on the back of the instruction manual.) After entering this code I get the message "Code is not valid for game."
2264548894: Im making sure to include the small 0 before the bar code and the small 8 afterwards
2264548894: Without using spaces or dashes
Robert: Please send me the code so that i can check it

Robert: Are you getting the UPC code or online access code invalid ?

Jeffrey B: The Dragon Age II in-game items do not appear immediately in the inventory screen, as they did in Dragon Age Origins. Rather, they will appear in a chest in your mansion once the prologue/tutorial has been completed.

Not to mention I can't find any way to obtain the Blood Dragon Armor (becomes unlockable if you had it in Dragon Age: Origins or Mass Effect 2) even though I wore it the entire game in Mass Effect 2.

Odd. Mine registered just fine when I got back two hours ago.

I laughed though when they disconnected the chat.

I had the same problem OP.
You have the Canadian version correct? the EA site doesn't like our UPC code.
use the American one:

Karma God of UPC codes I thank you. That code totally worked for me. *sigh of relief* And yes I have a Canadian copy (Ontario). One headache solved! Two to go (^_^)v
