OPM review

4/10 :-/

The text of the review is similar to the stuff we've seen from every other (positive review), only they weren't willing to bump up the score based on how great the atmosphere and story were. They were just concerned with the gameplay which, I admit, is probably a 4/10 if it weren't for all the good things that outweigh the gameplay.

Glad plenty of other review outlets saw through that tho.

Is gameplay really something you're looking for if you are "playing" Corpse Party though? :/

Way to go, Official Playsation Magazine :/

Now I can predict OPM will give the sequel an even lower score if all they care about is gameplay.

well, exactly. I doubt they got a horror fan to review it.

Are they serious? Do they not know what an interactive visual novel is?

Idiots.

It all depends on the player I guess.

If it failed to scare him/her then I can understand the low score.

But this game is not a Visual Novel.

No, but it is a game made in the tradition of visual novels -- as in, you play it for the story and atmosphere, and if the story and atmosphere are good, the GAME is good.

Again, it's not a Visual Novel.

It doesn't matter if you play it for the story and the atmosphere, it's not a visual novel. It barely has anything to do with Visual Novel. By your logic even Trail in the Sky is a Visual Novel since you play it for the story and it has tons of dialogs. There are tons of game out of there that make of the story their strong point, but no one goes around saying they are Visual Novel.

This game has a gameplay, so of course people are going to judge it by the gameplay too.

Personally, i can't blame them for not liking it. It's not really a game for everyone, the gameplay is kinda crappy and frustrating. I give it a 5/10 overall, not a bad a game, but not for everyone definitively.
