Got the above error message today ... only had the demo on my PC for 2 days.
Wanted to show thedemo to a few friends, but now cannot... is there a work around or will a uninstall/reinstall of the demo files fix the problem?
I didn't realise it was a time limited demo ...Sniper: Ghost Warriorseems like an OK game to me. My only City Interactive game is Code of Honor, which is somewhat of a guilty pleasure being one of my first FPS games, and this game is certainly graphically superior.
Well it seems the Sniper: Ghost Warrior DEMO was time limited.
I contacted City Interactive by email and they responded as follows:
"Unfortunately demo was unofficial - and for now only solution is to get full version."
Well that does sound unusual as the demo is hosted at all the usual LEGAL places like FilePlanet, GamersHell, GamesOnNet and FileFront. Oh well, a tasty morsel for the punters before they have to decide whether to buy the full game.
Go to date/time properties and push the date back for a year. Restore the date after you have finished playing.
Thanks .. a very simple work-around. I did manage to play the demo before the "expiry" ... it looked OK, but the GameSpot review, especially about the enemy AI (or its lack of intelligence), is spot on.
Most City Interactive FPS titles have the same "enemy AI" problem. Great graphics alone, do not a good game make.
