Just got the game. Any game-breaking glitches/problems to be aware of?

Any well-known problems that I should be aware of? I've heard of a couple auto-save glitches that render quests unfinishable. Any help is appreciated.

Only glitch ive encountered is getting some quest items permanently stuck in my inventory. The daggers Shine and Shadow got stuck after i put them in my box and then removed them again, and then the second set of House of Ballads robes got stuck as well. The gear didnt count towards my item burden but i couldnt remove it even after completing the related quests and i could sel the stuff either so it was just an eye sore.

- Keep multiple saves and save often
- You can get stuck in the ground after a reckoning, fast travel out of the ground if you can or reload previous save
- Beware the house of ballad last quest, the entire armor set can be stuck in your inventory, which is very annoying, so it may be best to keep some saves before getting the armor set.
- "Her righteous fury" has some bugs, one in particular that can kill your fast travel, pretty game breaking
- Once you get to klurikon, make sure to follow the main quest, if you destroy some crystals there before you're told to, you can glitch the main quest. Cannot enter alabastra, game-breaking.
- Adrenaline surge is bugged, it pretty much kills you instead of healing you.
- Regions lock to the level you have when you first enter them, so if you run around exploring instead of doing side quest region per region, you can lock a very large part of the game with very low level enemies.

Wow. Some of those sound serious. I'm surprised there isn't a patch to fix those things. And thanks for the heads up guys.

Like the klurikon crystal bug, or adrenaline rush ? Yes, I would have expected an update for those because they may have been pretty easy to fix. Unfortunately, it does not look like 38 studios is going to release any patch for this game.

DLCs ? yes. Bug fixes ? nope. Another difficulty level (often asked) ? nope.

Disappointing post-release behavior but at least the game is good, has relatively few bugs and from what I hear DLCs are not ripoff. All in all good enough I'd say.

These are the only two real ones. Everything else is fine. He is just being alarmist and exaggerating. Reckoning one is the most frustrating, since you really have no control over it. The Main quest one is really avoidable if you know about it.

Level-locking is not a game breaking glitch. If you really are worried about it:

http://forums.reckoning.amalur.com/showthread.php?7236-The-TLDR-guide-to-best-level-to-enter-a-new-zone-dungeon

This will clear things up.

Otherwise if you are causally playing level-locking wont effect you. Unless you want to maximize everything you do in the game, sure its annoying. but if you are playing through casually, its fine. It really makes replaying the game more entertaining since you dont have to go through the same motions every time, you can play how you want. but, stinks first play-through when you run through every zone cause you want to see it early or collect fast travel locations.

Saving often is a RPG staple, I really don't understand why you listed that first? Also, how long did it take for the PS3 version of Skyrim to get fixed?? those were game breaking. Reckoning at worst is inconvenient, such as the inventory getting stuck. ( which barely matters if you know the backpack upgrade trick.)

Because for some reason there are always some people that only rely on one save, sometime not even manual so it needs to be said first, especially since it can more or less fix a wide range of known and unknown yet glitches.

Still very few bugs for an open world game this size, most of them minor.
I've had three KoA playthroughs and the bugs I've encountered could always be fixed by reloading a previous save or just not worry with minor bugs, like the inventory stuck items.
By comparison, I've put skyrim down after two weeks, not sold it, just put it down. I'll pick it up again in a few months.
So hold off the amalur fanboyism.

lol fanboyism, way to have no concept of how to properly apply the word. I criticized and agreed that there are in-game issues. I had no objection with your opinions on this game. I just had a problem with the lack of intelligence displayed in your post.

The TC asked for game breaking bugs and glitches, the first thing you mention is save often, then go on to list a ton of other things that have little to do with game breaking or serious problems.... Do you not know how to read? Is that how you normally respond to a question? I would be terrified to ask you " how was your day?' You would probably start listing every grievance you ever had since you could form memories, which basically doesn't answer the original question.

You were alarmist and exaggerating. Yes what you mentioned exists but had little to do with the question asked. Level-locking and stuck items, yea i agree with you, they are definitely game breaking. lol, seriously?!

I just had a problem with the lack of intelligence displayed in your post.

I do appreciate the specific quest info that he provided, but this isn't my first rpg. Telling me to save often in an RPG is like telling me to breathe often when I'm scuba diving. I honestly was concerned about game breaking bugs in this game after a couple of my co-workers told me about having to start over because of a specific quest glitch.
