In this article here...

... Team Invasion is described as "the new co-op mode where players will be able to battle side-by-side with up to four friends on the same screen. Additionally Team Invasion Mode can be played online." I'm curious about the player limit in this mode when played online. Since it's four player splitscreen, does that mean that Team Invasion will only have eight players maximum, with four on each side? If it does allow twelve players, how will that work? Will another Wii with four people be allowed to join even though two people on that Wii will be on one team while the other two will be on the other team? Or will the other four slots be filled by two sets of people from two different Wiis? In order to play the mode online, is having four people playing on one Wii a requirement?

its 4 human players vs. a horde of whatever.

its not human vs. human. This mode, online, does NOT have split-screen. Invasion Mode contains unique challenges separate from the rest of the game.

Think Nazi-Zombies, probably similar to that.
