DLC: Is it even possible?

#119Ace93Posted 4/11/2010 12:46:47 AM

I don't really know the limitations of the Wii that well, so if anyone know whether or not the Wii can support down-loadable content (expansions like new maps and weapons) of games, please let me know.

There is already a well developed online store for the Wii, so in theory it could work, right?

Just a thought

Yes it can be done. Megaman 9 does it, MM10 does it, Arkanoid does it. Final fantasy does it and a couple of other games. It's very possible.

why pay for something that will probably be on the disc when you buy it? i'd rather there not be DLC because it's just another way for them to drain your wallets, either include it in the game when you ship it or don't include it at all.

HVS said DLC was going to be in the first game, but they used that money to create splitscreen for Con2. Now, they plan to implement DLC. I'll post link later.

DLC is possible, though it would have to be in several packets. Also, MM9 + 10 don't count, since the content's already there, and you're paying to unlock. Guitar Hero and Rock Band are better examples. <_<

Also, it can happen, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. <_<

Yes, DLC is possible. In fact, Nintendo actually made an update to the system menu for it.

If there is DLC of any kind, I really, seriously ****ing pray it's free. None of this "Oh look, we crapped out two maps, kinda like any of you could have done if you had a devkit, $30kthxplz"

Actually HVS told a few of us down at the portal that in order for this game to have DLC the preorder numbers have to be good.

So lots of preorder means DLC less means none.

So make sure you preorder C2 if you want DLC!

Howabout DLC pricing?
'cuz I'd rather not have pay DLC at all, just because people will be playing that, detracting from the number playing the core game.

I remember two maps in PDZ on 360 was only 250 mb. and they were using HD assets.
