How's this for an idea?
Two strings, one surrounded by [ and ] or ( and ) for clan tags, the other for the name. 10 characters for tag, 10 for name.

Oooo, better idea; Let people make their own in-game clans, like teams in, say, PSO, with individual stats for the clan it's self(stored on the Wii if it can't be kept server-side) and it's own name. That would be worth bragging about, especially for a Wii game.

According to Tony, HVS staff use STEAM and good online systems, so they're trying to get the online system as close to those as they can get them. Basically, they've thought of most/all of this and more.

You can't simultaneously model your online after Steam, and work within Nintendo's restrictions, and expect it to be good.
>.>

The purpose of Nintendos restrictions it so move away from that approach.
The result of pushing is going to be a compromise.

I hope HVS has a lot of ideas that ARN'T based on the Steam, etc. Model.
Because that's the only way you'll be able to make progress with Nintendo.

Or perhaps the result will be a big bang after which Conduit 2 is born...

Maybe.

Actually, chainmail has a point. With Nintendo's restrictions, you really have to think outside the box. Anything even remotely close to a quality server will not work with Nintendo's crap unless you buy the right to host your own.
