If Dead Space:Extraction can pull off something similar I see no reason why Con2 couldn't. Some type of interaction with the enviroment is always welcome. Just keep it out of online/multi. If Motion+ were to be implemented (I heard it was supposed to be for Con1 but due to time stuff wasn't possible to add in) it would be such a waste to not utilize it to its fullest. Now, I'm not saying you have to interact with every door or do some useless sequence to load a gun or anything but something would be nice.
