The only shooter I ever owned for it was Fur Fighters, but that was 3rd person.... Judging by that limited experience, I would say not very well, but I can't tell you. Games I had on my dreamcast were mainly like Sonic, Bomberman, Powerstone, and the like, not shooters.

Wait, was Resident Evil: Code Veronica a shooter? I haven't played any since, and I can't remember that one. If so, then I change my vote to them working quite well.

You had a dreamcast and didn't have Powerstone? That was the biggest gem of the whole system. Powerstone's fighting system was better then Smash Bros, IMO, but due to SEGA having to drop out of the console business...
