The shield gun, which takes some inspiration from District 9. It's an infinite ammo gun that can shoot weak, slow shots or charge to generate a shield that collects whatever is shot into it and blasts it back upon release of the trigger. No word on whether there is a limit to the damage it can hold (probably) or whether it can catch grenades without them exploding (shouldn't).
gogogo --- Surely there's no problem with them putting me in Brawl, right? It's ****ing satire, damnit. My quote rocks your socks.
This one will definitely be interesting. What I want to know most is just how much damage it can absorb. Oh, and I want to know if it can catch unexploded rockets and send them back. Oh, and is the shield duration based on a timer or damage or both?
Anybody else think it's kinda strange how little we know about these things? I don't want to know all of the new weapons (I want some of them to be kept secret), but we should know a little about the weapons we do know about, shouldn't we?
I dunno...am I expecting too much? --- I apologize for whatever I just said.
I don't that's expecting too much... We really don't know that much about this game. But that's already a topic, so...
IIRC, this gun does work on a damage system, and it does catch unexploded rockets. That should be fun for destroying rocket noobs. Also, if it's possible to shoot your teammates, I'm definitely making a montage of passing rockets around with the Aegis Device and getting awesome kills.
Seeing as how this weapon will take up the primary weapon slot... i'm having serious trouble of choosing which weapon to pick. I hate being killed by rockets and any sort of explosive propelling weapon like it, and usually take measures to keep such from happening...
But i want my Hive Cannon.... --- Sparkster returns after 16 years in..... "Rocket Knight" My Alias for Wii Online = "Shader" Monster Hunter Tri = "Deimos"
Well, nothing is stopping you from meleeing too, or shooting your normal fire. Also, I doubt everyone will avoid shooting, just like how people always shoot boomers in Left 4 dead... --- Give me liberty, or give me pizza pie
Phasmatis92: Actually, it was revealed during the e3 derrick showing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgyCWglLvsc) that the Aegis Device DOES have a maximum damage threshold.
Thank you. I was just going to post this, but I couldn't remember where I had heard the information.
I can see the Aegis Device being used to protect allies, such as those carrying the ASE or the VIP. If used properly with teammates it could be useful in breaking through a line of opponents. --- Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. Hebrew 13:3 (NIV)
Besides those two circumstances I don't really see the Aegis Device being used that much. To me it seems like a team weapon with which to complete objectives. --- Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. Hebrew 13:3 (NIV)
Except against a team you'll get outflanked without much thought. It has a limited range to either side. --- Surely there's no problem with them putting me in Brawl, right? It's ****ing satire, damnit. My quote rocks your socks.
