Day 16 - SMAW

I know what you're thinking, "Did he fire 1 shot or 0?" Well you just have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel lucky?"

(No current videos that I've found)

Everybody hates this weapon, and partly because of a glitch that wasn't even exclusive to it (though it was the most potent and had a tendency to crash the game). In The Conduit, it held 1/7, which is an awful lot of rockets to be toting. With a long reload time, it was a bit of a liability if you missed your target or got ambushed after a shot, but it was still rather easy to use and strong. Something of a "n00b" weapon. Conduit 2 hasn't revealed much about the new and unimproved SMAW, but rumor is a reduced ammo count (1/?) and possible relegation to secondary status, which makes sense if they really killed the spare ammo.

Surely there's no problem with them putting me in Brawl, right?
It's ****ing satire, damnit. My quote rocks your socks.

Oh how I hated this weapon. The endless marathon-explosives-streets matches didn't help either. As long as that accursed weapon-spawn glitch was removed and a VERY low amount of ammo can be carried at once, we should have no more problems with this.

Ahh..the SMAW. How we all do love to hate thee.

Although, without the ammo caches, there'll be no more infinite ammo. That's something to think about. Then again, they'll get their ammo restocked when they respawn...

Only time will tell what will happen when the noobs get their hands on it. Will they latch on to it and declare it the greatest weapon ever? Let's all wait and see...

I apologize for whatever I just said.

Great back up weapon when you allies are not following your plan.
Sub par when you're facing a moving long range target that knows you're aiming at him/her/it.

Especially sub-par when said target happens to be lugging around an Aegis Device. I can't wait for rocket n00bs to get the crap kicked out the them. I'm seriously considering making a "n00b hunting" class now... >=)

^ Much as I love the idea of sticking it to the noobtoobers, I suspect the Aegis Device won't be much help when it comes to splash damage, and they generally spam it at the wall/floor near you rather than directly at you.

Honestly, even though I think it would be so excruciatingly awesome, if the SMAW was switched for something like the Carl Gustav even if the shots are very limited, you're basically guaranteed downing the opposition if you just aim at them even if they're very far away from you.

I mean, it basically shoots rockets that teleport.

Though that is just the impression I have of it from playing a certain PSP game.

At first i loved it because it was my only weapon where i'd do badass with. Then it became extremely annoying because i became badass with any weapon, and noobs got good too when using it. Then i started to love it again, because the Explosive weapon set caused players to play smart and tactical.

Only after the game was out for months did i start to see actually really fun Explosive Set matches. For example, everyone in Infirmary would be crawling around, and trying to sneak by enemy players to pick off the ones that are being stupid and running around. Not only that, but the places on the maps with Med Packs were key places to hold the fort. Explosive Set went through some changes for a good while.

The SMAW is a decent, awesome weapon. But i want a more badass, future human rocket launcher.
