Day 8 - TPC Launcher

The one people like making irl models of. Shoots energy canisters (effectively small grenades).

China Level Gameplay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Btn2iX3tJBE

Ammo: 4/20
Type: Explosive
Alt-Fire: Proximity Mines
Cost: cr.22500

There has been a major reduction in clip-size and total ammo, but there are improvements in many other aspects. The RoF is higher, and shells will now bounce once off of surfaces except when hitting a target. Also, the alt-fire launches proximity-triggered grenades that stick to the first surface they touch, including teammates.

No footage aside from old E3 stuff (which looks different), but here's a picture:

I didn't use the TPC much in TCon simply because the only time I ever had it was in Explosives and I had the SMAW. However, when I did use it, I liked it. The fact that the projectiles bounce now completely changes the weapon's capabilities. I can't wait to try it. Actually, I can't wait to try any of the guns.

Gimmeh muh Conduit nao!

I'm also a little worried about the proximity mines. In CoD, all the colors are the muted colors of "realism," so you could miss seeing the Claymores. In a brighter game like C2, I think they'll probably be easier to spot, (we still haven't seen what they look like to enemies, right?) making them more difficult to use. You'd have to hide them around corners and doorways (although you should usually be doing that anyways). Couple that with the fact that they probably won't be a one-hit kill, and you have the potential for an overly-situational weapon.

I apologize for whatever I just said.

There's always the strategic use of area denial, at least enough to make them reluctant to go through a chokepoint. Psychologically, they can be used to convince opponents to go a certain direction without doing any damage themselves.

The proxies shouldn't be the main damage output unless enemies aren't very bright, just because they'll be easy to see.

The arking projectile shots do decent explosive damage and the weapon has a good ammout of em too.
The mines are going to be interesting to use though, wonder if there's an option to make them invisable.

Mines seem cool, and if 1 clip kills....that's gonna be awesome. Seems campy-noob friendly though. MINES and a GRENADE LAUNCHER? Teh ultimatez n00b cannon. Still, sounds cool. ME GUSTA.
