C2 ... dated controls

The first game to use it's control scheme was in 2009, and TCon/C2 controls are far better than... you're talking about the CCP controls, aren't you?
__
C2 does have minor balance issues, but it and TCon are two of the very few well balanced shooters made this gen, most shooters are low health/no radar that laugh at the idea of trying to be balanced. Even the most popular Wii FPS has that problem.

It could be Conduit Meets Country Dance for all we know.

That's what I'd like to know. Conduit 2 has the best controls I've ever seen in a console FPS, far better than Conduit 1. I feel like I actually have freedom of movement. When I play Goldeneye, the stupid controls FIGHT with me. Like when I'm reloading, sometimes it won't let me turn!

He thinks they're dated because they won't let you edit your controls for when you're aiming down the sights. I don't really see why it has to be different from your hip-fire controls.

It totally, totally does. I prefer TCon's controls only because in C2 I can't control the SCAR worth a [expletive] when I'm aiming down my sights. I adore that aspect of GoldenEye Wii.

In TCon I don't think you can edit your ADS controls. Anyways, it doesn't bother me in C2, cuz it's not like you're meant to turn your screen while using ADS. Also, you can lock your screen.

What Brennan said and then some. The controls are dated due to the lack of customization. The main problem is the lack of separate sensitivity settings for aiming down the sights, but it's more than that. The COD games have more customization in general. So does Golden Eye and Even Red Steel 2. C2 is simply lacking in the customization department. Which is so surprising because Tcon set the benchmark for control customization when it came out.

I am very picky though. The only game that I think, and this includes all of the COD games, that got the controls perfect on the Wii was MW3.

Brennan go play COD, MW3 in particular, and you'll know why I want more control customization. Actually you don't even have to buy it, rent it, or even play it. Just find someone that owns it for the Wii and look at how many things you can tweak control wise. Don't rent it or anything. With all the control options it would probably take you quite a while to find one that is just right. No point in buying it now because it's hacked all to crap anyway and will probably just make you angry.

How about you just customize your controls based around what you need when you use sights?
You can be much more flexible with hipfire controls anyway. Especially w/lockon.

I will admit that the next game needs to step up the controls a bit. Other devs have taken the wiimote controls that hvs helped pioneer and have further expanded upon them. It's time to play catch up.

While I do agree that MW3 offers much better control customization, I would argue that it's because it really needs it, LOL. I never liked the "feel" of the way my character moved in MW3 compared to C2. I think it's because the characters MW3 move more like they're carrying packs and heavy weapons, while C2's movements seem more effortless, fluid, and smoother. Maybe part of this is HVS's motion capture studio, or perhaps the idea that the exo-suit/armor allows more effortless movement when carrying heavy weapons.

Perhaps this is a connectivity thing, or a playstyle thing, or just a thing. I don't know.

When I play MW3, I feel like I'm playing TCon, which is my way of saying that it makes me feel like I'm walking in ankle deep mud.

However, the bottom line for me is, I will almost certainly buy C3 in whatever incarnation it happens to be released in, unless it's for a handheld, which I don't own. I will come here, or go to the C3 forum to offer and accept constructive criticism, and make new friends. Then, I will defend it to the death!
