I want the next game to have classes...

Said before by many, but i think it would work out very nicely in the next game.

you could have:

Heavy Weapons class utilizing Smaw, Carbonizer, etc
Sniper class using phase, strike rifle, etc
Infantry using Scar, Shotgun, Flak Jackets, etc
Spec Ops using some form of stealth, silenced weapons
Medic using some form of healing nodes (kinda like reverse damage)
Technician which could use turrets, repair damaged turrets, and possibly even hack turrets

And possibly others.

The beauty of classes is that each class would have abilities, upgrades and weapons specific to there class, which (IMHO) provide a better range of balance.

Your thoughts?

I don't want classes....
Too rigid.

I like the idea of characters being a little unique. But, not like this.

The problem is, its like the specialization thing all over again.
Its just going to make the turret useless on it own, its only good if you're a tech.
Sniping is terrible, unless you're a sniper.

Isn't that something that was decided that was kinda a bad thing about Con2?

I want a game where I can play on the fly.
I don't have to make ALL my decision in the lobby, deciding which classes and perks I'm going to have available to me.

I want to be able to say "This isn't working for me" and go and pick up somebodies gun, and be able to use it just as well as they were able to.

You could still do that

If you give each person 1(or 2) unique abilities, In a way that isn't dependent on a particular weapon(s), or perk(s), or level(s). Then I say yes.

Yeah, not really weapon dependent. No double balls or phase spec or anything like that. I mean different field abilities, as in abilities that could be used on the battlefield. Basically, each class would have different abilities, but not necessarily related to there weapons.

I don't want classes. One thing that the developers agreed on was the ability to be what YOU want. I want to be a heavy sniper or a heavy medic, or even a light, super fast SMAW user. I like having the ability to mix classes and maybe be a little bit of each class.

Wasn't it originally proposed that you'd be able to shoot off armor pieces, and be able to pick up and use other peoples perks in game?

I'd like to revisit that.

That would be a pretty neat idea, and I don't think I would mind it too much.

And don't lie, you love all the variations of the "I want the next game to have..." don't you Punch? Haha, I mean that's your thing! It's just so... you! :D
