Conduit 2 sold pretty well for a game that got no advertising from its very crappy publisher. Conduit 3 could be pretty successful on Wii U under the right circumstances.

Releasing C3 on the Wii U right now is probably the biggest mistake HVS can make right now. Even a half finished Grinder would sell better, or if HVS wanted to make an actual profit they could give TCon a technical and graphical tune up and re-release it with patch support as a downloadable game.

sorry didnt read all the posts but wasting time and money is not always a problem for everyone

Any company does not want to waste time or money. So that means no future conduit games. HVS is not going to invest money and time into something that will not sell well.

didnt C2 sell out of copies?

Again, low print run is NOT a sign of failure...especially when 90% or so of the copies sell!

AND.....

when that available number of copies sells out (or darn near) it can be said to have SOLD WELL.

so why wouldnt they try for a 3rd Conduit again? Because Sega took a beating on their published T rated and M rated games and didnt believe in a high print run, advertisement, or long term patch update support?

I'd almost think HVS would take the near sold out test run as a good thing...think Bob and Panda may have even said as much. They need a publisher...but iin the day and age of DL games and Nin finally getting on board w eshop...well, guess we'll see.

How so? CoD is currently the only competition.

Chesluk has a lengthy shtick about how HVS has to slowly build a reputation before they release a third Conduit game, if they want it to be well-received. I disagree.

But isn't there also -stifles laughter- 007 Legends on Wii U?

For some definition of the word, I suppose. Wii U isn't suffering the kind of FPS dearth the Wii had in 2008-09.

Because HVS doesn't have the best track record with the Conduit series. TCon was insanely buggy and tons of people lost interest in HVS because of it. A lot of others stuck through the bugs because they saw a lot of potential and wanted to see what came out of it in Conduit 2. Conduit 2 comes around and mixes a lot of things up, some people like it, others don't. On top of that are the large number of issues present at launch, a glitch that would make the campaign impossible to finish, multiplayer lobbies merging, balance issues that Punch made sure everyone knew about (which didn't help when potential buyers came to the board and saw "THIS IS BROKEN HVS FIX IT" for two pages). Releasing Conduit 3 now wouldn't be a good idea just because there isn't as much interest in it as there was for the first two games. Even if it went back to TCon's design in an attempt to win over the older fans, a lot of people would be still really skeptical because haven't really shown that they can code worth a damn. That's why HVS needs to hold off on C3 and release something else in the meantime to show what they can do. The Grinder is a great option because there's much more interest in it than there is in another Conduit at the moment. As much as people got pissed off at TCon/C2, a lot of them still want The Grinder to come out. Releasing a polished TCon for download would just be an easy way to make money, since a ton of people would've bought C2 if it was just a patchable TCon. Spruce up the graphics, maybe add in some C2 stuff like character customization and some of the new game modes (annexation, powersurge, ASE basketball) and it'd probably sell really well.
