It could have a lot of little lights and switches, and it could fire out of a dish shaped thing where lasers converge from the edges and fire out in 6 pellets, or into one more powerful shot if charged, sort of like the laser on the Death Star.

No. Its a trust weapon, therefore it wouldn't ACTUALLY be a shotgun.

So its form would be like a long rifle, and we'll just pretend that you could accelerate atoms in that short of a span. But it wouldn't be a normal rifle either, as it would be powered by TCP cells or something.
I 'd imagine the projectiles would orbit around each other. So imagine like the deatomizer after it is disrupted, except these projectiles would do it while they were traveling, and there would be six particles instead of two.
A charged shot would allow them to travel in a smaller cluster, which is how it could achieve its accuracy.
