WHAT IS A BATTLE LADDER? A battle ladder is skill ranking system, where players fight for higher spots. Its a lot better at determining skill than a traditional tournament, It keeps itself up to date, and its a lot of fun.
WHY SHOULD I ENTER? Firstly, its going to be crazy fun. A competitive level adds a deeper level of play that enriches the gaming experience. You will have to opportunity to add skilled players to your friends list, and expand your own skill. And it will likely not likely be too demanding to participate in.
HOW DOES IT WORK? 21 people are divided into tiers, and ranked according to skill. People challenge for positions they want, but are only able to challenge people on their own tier, or on the tier above them. HOW DO I ENTER? In order to participate in the ladder, you will normally need to challenge and win somebody in the bottom tier. However, occasionally there may be open spots in the bottom tier due to players leaving, in which case it goes to whoever claims it first. If there are a lot of challenges going into the bottom tier, another tier may be added, which will open up a whole slew of new spots.
WHERE CAN I FIND THE CURRENT RANK LIST? A ranking list will be posted on this thread whenever I update the list, you can also check the latest posts on this thread for changes that may not have been published yet.
WHAT IS THIS THREAD FOR? This thread is for publishing results, and for discussing rule the sets/restrictions. In order to make it easy to keep the ranking updated quickly and accurately, This thread is NOT for announcing challenges, or for organizing matches.
1. Challenge the current holder of the title that you want by PMing them. Itís not a challenge if you donít PM them.
2. Wait for them to respond (If they do not respond in two weeks, they forfeit, and you win)
3. Make a challenge thread to organize the match (any disputes will be handled publicly in your thread)
4. Play them head-on-head to determine who's the best
5. Come back here to the "The Conduit 2 Singles Battle Ladder" thread, and reply with the results (It is encouraged that both winner and loser post results)
Challengers: -You may only challenge people in your tier, or in the tier above yours. -New players may only challenge the bottom tier. -You can challenge up to 1 person every week. -If you lost your challenge, you cannot re-challenge the same person for Two Weeks.
Title Holders: -You may turn down matches ONLY 72 hours after winning a match. After this period you have to either accept all challenges or forfeit you position. -You have up to two weeks to respond to a challenge, If you do not respond in that time, you will forfeit the match due to inactivity.
Rules Set: -Best 2 out of 3. -10 stock elimination -6 minute time limit. -Lock-on enabled. -Radar enabled
Does the winner take the spot of its loser (ex. 21-18) or only go up one spot?
Usually the winner takes the loser's spot (in your example, #21 would become #18), and then everyone in between gets bumped down (in your example, 18 would become 19, 19 would become 20, 20 would become 21), but players lower than the challenger would be unaffected.
I don't remember if that's how the C2 ladder works, but I think it is.
Also if I recall, in the C2 ladder you can only challenge up one "tier" (marked off with an extra blank line on Chain's list).
