RIP Conduit 2: 19 April 2011 - 22 May 2014

At 5:15pm EST, I turned on my TV to find a connection error beginning with 8. I believe the last lobby of Conduit 2 closed between 4:40 and 5:15pm EST today.

There is not much I can say that Falcon hasn't already covered, though I'm not sure how sincere he was. Either way, it's recommended reading.

I'm grateful for High Voltage Software's stab at a serious FPS on the Wii. I think I speak for many of us when I say the controls have left us reluctant to shoot aliens any other way.

Hats off to this board for keeping public matches and competitive play regularly available for three years plus a month. I'm not sure if there's a good way to measure it, but I've always maintained that Conduit 2 has a remarkable amount of player engagement per copy sold. Thank you for welcoming new members right up until the end.

I'm honored to have been your last representative on Nintendo Wifi Connection. Signal, Chain, thank you for the last hardcore match on Streets Prime.

My Wii needs a rest now. It's been great fighting alongside all of you.

The last man on Conduit 2... you have cemented your place in history, you are truly immortal. I'm just glad someone cool was there when the plug was pulled. Kudos

RJ it has always been a pleasure playing C2 and TCON with you.

This game will be missed, as there are not many decent FPS's out there.

You will be known as the last NTSC player to be online, in same way that I was one of the last PAL players to be online on the 20th.

Next big adventure - Mario Kart 8.

Your words will be embedded in the grave of Conduit 2 forever. It is the end of a Conduit 2 multiplayer, but there is no end to the adventure.

And thus ends all life on the Conduit 2 servers. Even RonJohn, the legendary last survivor, was unable to hold out forever. He too, eventually, fell like the rest to the unrelenting swarm of connection errors, although it is rumored he took his fair share down with him. He will rest in peace, and will never truly be forgotten; he will always be remembered as the hero who did the impossible: survived the infamous Shutdown, long after everyone else was gone.

There was a guy on Brawl who says he lasted 78 hours after the official shutdown:

He also had nobody to play with. xD
