I'm assuming same thing..

anyways, they are somewhat like item world in the way they are generated and completing each floor. Except, you go into one of your units. 3 for every reincarnation.

the purpose of them is to improve a character, which you can improve a certain aspect of them such as speed, jump, attack, etc. and their aptitudes will go up for doing so and for beating the boss at the end (similar to item king/general/other rank) Two of the main things done here (at least in D3) is duping, and the ability to transfer special attacks from one character and let another learn them. There are clones (I forgot the name of them) of the character you decide to go in that will show up, having the same level and equipment as them. If you use the PPS, you can still their items, essentially duping the items you had before. As for skills, one option you can have is to have them learn a skill from another person in their club (club in D3, forgot what it is in D4) such as if you have a mage, and a fighter in the same group, if you decide to go into Class world of the Fighter, you can make it so he can learn one of the mage's spells.

Much of Class world's "goodies" require you to have a certain amount of mana

Class World allows you go inside a character similar to that of Item World.

It is a randomized dungeon comprised of 10 floors, filled with many geo blocks.

Class World allows you to permanently increase various things to the character you are inside. It can be anything from Movement Range, Jump Height, Counter Attacks, Evilities, and Skill Inheritance (i.e teaching a character skills they would normally not be able to learn such as a Sword Weapon Skills on a Mage)

Inside Class World you may randomly encounter clones of the character you are currently inside (in Disgaea 3 they were called Drop Outs), Defeating a Drop Out increases the Aptitudes of the character.

Aptitudes are various percentages that a character gets benefit from via equipment...for example a character with 120% ATK aptitude equipping a Sword with 1000 ATK power would actually get a 1200 ATK bonus (1000 + 120% = 1200)

Class World is one of the few ways to increase the potential of your characters above and beyond that mere leveling cannot do alone.

So even monsters can learn any skills from other characters through class world, even uniques skills as long as they aren't weapon-based?

As long as they aren't unique skills...You can teach a monster all the spells you want...such as Fire, Wind, Ice, and Star and the higher tier versions.

I am not sure about Evilities though.

oh that's useful! can they also learn/transfer magic skills straight from training as one class before changing to a monster?

Like learning all the Cleric healing skills then change them to monster and still have all those skills learned?

chara = character

it's going to be a drag to unlock the two extra weapon skills be going through the chara world and running into those guys by chance

That is done via Transmigration / Reincarnation.

For example you could level up a Warrior for a bunch of levels gather and spending the mana to learn new skills...to get to a certain point Reincarnate your Warrior into Mage (At Genius level Transmigration with 95% skill levels kept of previous class)

The result is a Mage character with previous abilities of Warrior class (this does not included Class unique evilities unfortunately)

genius level Transmigration is based on their experience level or tier?

Genius is an option you pick when Reincarnating, and requires just Mana.

Other things not mentioned about the Chara World, is that unlike Disgaea 3, the "drop outs" (I forget the name in D4), is VERY rare, and spawn on the map after a turn or two (they literally fall from the sky).

Aptitude Blocks will also randomly spawn on the map (fall from the sky after a turn or two) and will increase the character's Aptitude a bit upon clearing that Chara World session. Skill Blocks will teach that character a new Evility upon clearing Chara World (they're like Aptitude Blocks, just rarer).

On the 10th Floor of Chara World, clearing all the blocks will open up a Mystery Gate where you can spend Mana to increase the size of the Evil Symbols, or rarely, one of two Combat Masters will appear and let you learn one weapon skill that can't be learned anywhere else from a list.
