ExtraspectrePosted 5/3/2012 12:21:04 PM(edited) | Hardly matters that they fit general overarching stereotypes when they are so well fleshed out and given unique and memorable personalities which the fanbase has come to love.
They are individuals, not bland stereotypes.

So angry African freedom fighters are all desperately cynical imperialists?

There's not a single half-hearted or incompetent among them. No anti-heroes, no washed up has-beens looking for a second chance either. They're all only characters who have a 'thing', and that's the most definitive thing about them.

Robot Pinocchio
Amoral Scientist with a Heart of Gold
But each of them has little quirks, habits, aspects, and touches that move them beyond such categories. Ashley likes poetry, Kaidan (not a clue here. Been awhile since I talked to him in-game. =/), Miranda is sterile, Liara has a darker-edge, Legion is actually a group of over a thousand individuals, and Mordin sings. --- So they'll insult me, because I can take it. the_fonze7Posted 5/3/2012 1:46:46 PM | For those trying to weed out the Cliche's of this game, I challenge you to come up witht a character that isn't cliche'.
The truth is it's impossible, EVERY character ever that would be at all interesting in a setting like this has been done before a thousand times over because characters and personalities aren't new. --- I love Sarah Palin, and not ironically either. |

chetmcPosted 5/3/2012 2:37:52 PM | Miranda: Hot ( or in this case perfect) woman who's insecure about herself.
Samara: Honor based hero dedicated to a certain code or way of life.
Conrad Verner: Fanboy who desperately tries to be like his idol.
or even the bad guys...
Saren: Good guy who becomes corrupted and fights against what he used to beleive.
