Some people just like being able to brag about using crappy classes to sound cooler. He does suck and cluster grenades are awful. However if you use a ton of consumable equipment then you get damage bonuses that will keep the delusion going for a few games.

Yep this. He's terrible..no debate.

And on top of that, I'm not getting those clusterf*** everyone's talking about. Is it because I took damage instead of radius on my cluster grenades? Is it because my aim sucks? I'm really missing something here. ( yes targets are reaved and I took radius)

Cluster grenade radius helps until you get more practice with the clusters, but it's not necessary if your aim is good. Reave radius is an absolute requirement. It's mostly learning the grenade trajectories. Either aim so that the grenades hit enemies directly so they explode on contact, or aim for them to hit the ground between you so they bounce to the enemies and stop where they are (this is what you should do most of the time). Take into account differing elevations, it's a lot harder to cluster grenade people above you for example.

You should have capacity 7 or 8, so if there's a big group (i.e. you're suppressing a spawn), don't feel bad about tossing 2 or 3 in a row to make sure you get everyone.

Equipping and firing a scorpion into mobile groups to stagger them is helpful. This is great against phantoms and other enemies that are likely to move out of the blast radius.

Using corners and walls to contain the spread is also really helpful.

How would convincing people the class is good help them brag about doing well with a crappy class? I think you need to exercise the logic centers in your brain a little more often.

It requires skill but the kill potential is there.

Cluster nades are difficult to throw,
health is low, but area reave and the speed boost + cartwheels allows you to combat that.

Reave to Nades is nearly instant and extremely powerful

I was using it for a bit and i just think it's a crappy class. The grenades throw awkwardly and roll away from targets and don't seem to do much when they do hit them, I can't say I notice Reave doing much else either tbh, use something else.

I'm hearing people between here and BSN ranting that Drell Adept is the best adept and how its OP and blawblaw.-

I haven't seen anyone say it is OP. It is good, but relies on grenades (not that big of an issue if it is the only grenade user in the match) to keep up it's potential.

@Electrology

How do you not notice reave doing "much else"?

Am using a bad map to try to get what I want? I'm using WWG. Is the geth the worse to use on?

Wouldn't mind some tips is what I'm getting at. :)

Area reave+cluster

Cluster grenades (for me anyways) are set up for radius, shrapnel, extra grenade.

Max everything except Pull, or put one point in pull to deal with guardians. Use a carnifex, set passive up for power+power+weapon and you will have 200+ cd.

Just constantly spam reave and shoot, when 3 or more (or2 or more) enemies are grouped toss your grenades for a big boom

I'm by no means brilliant at ME, but I mange to top the score with the Drell Adept more often than not on Silver, and I'm there or there abouts on Gold.

Reave is awesome with other biotic classes playing. Cluster Grenades are awesome as well.

It's a matter of preference, but I will argue with anybody that says the Drell Adept is rubbish. In the same way I'm awful with solider classes, you just don't know how to get the best from him.

Not saying either way is wrong, but consider dropping radius for damage. Groups of regular enemies will all get hit enough to die anyway, shrapnel is good enough to cover them w/o the radius. And when attacking bosses, it is not hard to get all 3 nades to hit directly, so dmg helps more.

Also, as discussed in the other thread, I'm pretty sure combo damage is better than extra grenade, assuming you have grenade capacity V and can already carry a ton of grenades anyway.

Nobody says the drell adept is OP in that topic, TC stating it is the "most powerful biotic" is not the same as saying "it is OP". None of the posters in that topic said it was OP. Again I haven't seen anyone say it is OP.
