ME1's box art was about a hundred times better than ME2's, and ME3's is somewhere in-between. But when you factor in Collectors Editions, all of a sudden that Paragon/Renegade Earth dealio for the ME3 box gives ME1 a run for its money.

ME3 box art should have been an overhead shot of Shepard, TIM, and Star Child locked in a 3 way paper - rock - scissors battle over a shot of Earth each represented by the 3 colors.

ME3's boxart is a horrible example of the modern boxart trend in which the shots are just pictures of the main character looking angry and/or badass.

Well, boxart is what has to appeal to the people who make impulse purchases. It has to be overly badass to be attention-grabbing.
