How do people like dark colors so much in this game?

Most of the people on multiplayer just LOVE the colors black and gray. I've seen some blues and reds, but they mostly stay in the safe dark blue and dark red palette. Am I the weird one for having some color in my characters?(yellow, green, light blue, etc...) Seriously, the colors just bore me and makes me want to fall asleep.

problem with those bright colors is that you loose all the specular and details of the texture.

I always go black for primary and a color for highlights.

It all has to do with how they pull it off.

My Batarian Sentinel is all white with a faded/dark teal chest, and teal lights and patterns. I also have my FQE colored purple, with golden patterns and trims. Both fit them well.

Then I have my Geth Engineer all white with the dark red camo pattern, which makes it look like blood splattered on him, and also with red lights so he's in like... danger/kill-mode.

It just has to match and look good.

Most of the times I've seen people with brighter colors, they do look like obnoxious clowns, and yeah I'd agree that looks terrible. But I've seen a few good ones in the mix.

As for mainly seeing people use dark colors, well, to each their own. But with the right pattern and light colors even the darker ones can look original/awesome.

I rarely ever notice them anyway unless I'm spectating or they just look really unique.

My human engineers have neon green armor with red stripes, but that's pretty much it. For the rest of the characters I use darker colors.

I'm pretty sure the Crucible was supposed to harness the dark energy of Haestrom to destroy the Reapers
