Some advice before moving up to gold

#1Truegamer9Posted 12/28/2012 2:08:09 AM
I'm pretty confident in doing silver runs, I was just wondering if I'm ready to move it up to gold. I was planning on either using the Turian Ghost or N7 Paladin unless there are other alternatives. Also is it necessary to have high level weapons? The best I've got is probably the Harrier I.

That's everything I've got so far, pretty unimpressive I know but I'm hoping to change that. I'm just looking for some advice and tips from all of you guys who are probably more experienced before I go running off and getting myself killed repeatedly. If anybody has tips/advice/feedback feel free to tell me, it would be greatly appreciated.

my advice is to stop being helpless and go play gold

it gets annoying when people dont think for themselves and just ask for what we do

Never thought of it that way, trail and error right? Still never hurts to have some info before playing. There's always that one guy who ends up screwing everyone over cause he has no clue what he's doing and I'd rather not be that guy.

Buy Jumbo Equipment Packs. You have zero medigel, that won't do you very good on Gold.

Whoop's, should really get working on that then. Haven't been going down in silver so I've just been investing my credits in reserves packs for new characters. Thanks for pointing that out.

not needing to gel is a pretty strong indicator of whether or not you're ready to move up.

that said, you'll need some before moving up...,

Just play and find out. Not doing well in one game isn't the end of the world. People who play this game have played hundreds if not thousands of games, if you show up on one of their gold games and aren't the best player they most likely won't care.

that said, how do you have none if you haven't been needing to use them...?

I used a lot when I went from bronze to silver, RNG ends up giving me a lot Ops survival/Missiles which I use relatively frequently.

Missiles are paramount on higher difficulties.

You've got most of the good stuff. Some suggestions:

Ghost Infiltrator with Harrier or Particle Rifle
N7 Destroyer with Particle Rifle or Typhoon and Piranha
N7 Paladin with Acolyte and Hurricane
N7 Demolisher with Harrier
Quarian Marksman with Hurricane

Those are all really powerful classes. When you get more comfortable with Gold you won't need to use the powerful stuff most of the time, but since you're just starting out give those a shot.

He's one of the rude ones. Don't mind him. Jaded elitists or otherwise roam around here.
