Does Citadel remind anyone else of Gold Saucer?

Not sure how many Mass Effect fans have played Final Fantasy, but I'm getting some serious Gold Saucer (FFVII) vibes from this DLC. The battle arena, interactions with your party, even some of the mini-games are similar.

Reminds me of the good old days... been way too long since an RPG has had this kind of quality side-content.

Now that you mention it, it kind of does.

It's too bad it's paid DLC, as great as it is... feels like it should have been a part of the main game.

Even the staircase leading up to the battle arena in Citadel is eerily reminiscent of the staircase leading to the battle arena at gold saucer... it's crazy. I think it was a legitimate source of inspiration for this, way too coincidental otherwise.
