Yes! First Gold solo = complete!

OK, so I might have used the Geth Trooper vs. Reapers on one of the best soloing maps (Reactor Hazard), but holy crap it feels good to have finally done this.

- Wave 3 was devices. That one didn't go as badly as I thought it would; I had to kite a Banshee around a few times, but overall it went pretty easily.

- Wave 6 was delivery. One object was in the back end of the arena, so I had to go out of my way a good deal to make it there safely. The second object was at the bottom of the ladder right near the LZ, so that one was a breeze.

- Wave 10 was escort, and this was possibly the easiest one of them all. The drone started out in the big open area next to the LZ, and went up through the reactor. I used one of my missiles here for a pair of Banshees and a Brute that were following me, but other than that there were zero troubles.

Used the Acolyte w/ Warp Rounds IV. It took about three shots to strip the barriers of each Banshee, one for Marauders, and it provided great stagger to groups of Cannibals and Husks coming my way. Three medi-gels, three ops packs, and two missiles were used. There was one point on Wave 9 where I stupidly ran into an area where a Banshee and Brute had spawned, and it would've surely ended in death if I hadn't shot a missile. Can't remember exactly where I used the ops packs, although I'm sure one instance was immediately after I got double-Warped by two Banshees.

Marauders turned out to be the biggest issue. It was easy to forget that whole squads of them could tear you apart when you were busy flaming/kiting a Banshee.

Final score was 294,278, and it took a little over 48 minutes.

Again, I know it's not ground-breaking or anything, but it's immensely satisfying to have completed it, and with only two missiles used.

Nice one Sheep. Perhaps I'll try a solo gold run sometime. Getting a taste for it since I've been trying silver solos lately but I'm way too aggressive/reckless at times cause I'm so impatient.

I wish I could say that it'll be cake, but this was awfully stressful despite being a pretty ideal setup.

I'm thinking of doing the Salarian Infiltrator vs. Geth for the second one. If only my Black Widow could magically level itself up to X...

Best solo map? I've never liked Reactor. Glacier or Giant for me.

Kroguard, Geth, Glacier is so fast and easy. That's how I got my Lone Wolf. You should try too, Sheep.

@ Teh_Apotheosis - I think the only major difference between soloing Silver and Gold is that you simply have to be a lot more tactically aware. With more bosses and higher-level troops, checking flanks is an absolute must. There were a few times during my solo where a stray group of Marauders would appear behind me and start massacring me. If I wasn't a tanky character, I easily would've been down.

I've thought about doing something like that, but... I just hate the Kroguard. I know that Geth/Kroguard is easily the best Gold solo setup in the game, but he's such an immensely boring character. If push comes to shove I'll probably do that, but I'd rather play with a class that I enjoy.

As for Reactor Hazard, I just love it due to the numerous methods of kiting. There are so many walls and obstructions to duck behind, and so many ways to manipulate enemies. And of course, cleaning up mooks with the simple press of a button is always nice, haha.

If you're going to do a SI solo against geth, Rio is the place to go. Pick a side and kill everything that goes over the middle.

@ Dorick - Platinum solo? *shivers* I can barely hold my own in a regular Platinum match, haha.

I like Ghost, lots of room for kiting there.

Rio would be an amazing map for a sniper - I'll definitely keep that in mind.

Knowing my luck though, I'd probably get a Wave 10 hack at the LZ...

That's not so bad. Hide near the box for a little bit, then run to the hack. It takes them a while to catch up.
