It really depends. Do you play with friends who are just as good as you, if not better? Because you'll find it difficult to play Platinum PUGs, because even if you're ready, so many of the others that try and play it are not.

To solo have level IV mods level III amp and rails with a Harrier X.

For a team if your a noob and lazy Rio Reapers if your a man anything else.If your insane Kroguard on collectors with white Hazard.

Do not judge others unless you judge yourself first.Afterwards pick up a 12 gadge shotgun and prepare for the zombie apocolypse.

lol i've seen guys who are n7 50 exploit the rio box consitently

Any time really.

In my opinion, as long as you use good consumables(level 3 and higher) and use a character that shreds armor (75% or higher), and know proper spacing and dodging, you are ready for platinum

If you have to do Rio/Reapers, you're not ready for Platinum.

Try a no fitness, no cyclonic build with any of your favorite classes on Gold. If you can skate through relatively unharmed, you'll have a good idea of how it "feels" (totally non-objective but I've found that it holds fairly true) regarding taking damage and so on, although as you know Platinum is boss spam mode, so bring boss killing abilities.

Artificial difficulty added by nerfing ammo boxes, I usually don't take two weapons unless I solo or play Platinum, but on Platinum I either go for high damage+shield stripping (think Claymore+Acolyte) or just general ridiculous OP-ness (QMI Harrier+Reegar, lol). Regenerating weapons are also good, PPR or Lancer.

Apart from that, just go for it, there's no other way to get used to it. People seem to like Giant, but I'm particular to Ghost, Hydra, Jade and Reactor. White is also a solid choice.

Shameless self-promotion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Mz_L6_xAmE QMI with lolReegar and lolHarrier, not harder than Gold =P

That's a bit too extreme!

Just as long you're able to carry your own weight then you should be fine.

The best offense is defense, so stick with your team at all time and form a defense line.

If you're weak, stand/stay behind a strong team member and look out for him/her. Provide support. Always keep a look out for Phantom, dragoon and Geth Bomber.

If you're going to wander off on your own, make sure that you can handle it on your own and come back a live. It's very risky having a team member breaking the defense line to go to where you are to revive you.

Get the objective done as soon as possible, the faster you get it done, the fewer enemies you have to kill. Keep track of your team's missile counts. Always save 2 to 3 missiles for wave 10's objective. Use it wisely.

The best advice i can give you is, ALWAYS stay with your team! 2 is always better than 1, and 4 is even better. Form a defense line!!

IF you like JRPG or Pokemon, go do youself a favor and play Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
