Is it common for better players not to revive teammates?

#1WelcommattPosted 5/17/2013 8:50:51 PM
I just had a gold match against collectors on hydra, with 3 teammates who honestly could have done the match without me, they were great players. But I couldn't get them to revive me to save my life (pun intended? Idk). They all stayed in the same general area, the control room place, and I would stay either in the back exit hallway of that room or the top of the ramp just outside that room. Yet still, every time I go down it seemed like they just let me bleed out. I used a couple medigels to save myself, and a couple rockets to save then when stuff got tight. I drew fire on the objectives (not an exuse for not helping, I had multiple scions and praetorians attacking me while they did the hacks). It was just a little rough, trying to help them and getting the cold shoulder. Does this happen a lot nowadays? i never had the same problem sinse release, but Its been happening in a couple of my games lately.

I revive everyone. Every chance I get. I'll sometimes die trying to revive someone.

Not sure I consider myself one of the 'better' players however.

There are only a few circumstances where I won't revive someone:

A) They're in the middle of a mob. In that case, I will probably either rocket or try to kill a few things before reviving them.
B) They're waaaaay on the other side of the map.
C) The player has went down so many times that I don't feel it necessary to revive them. I literally just got out of Platinum match where me and two friends were stuck with a random who was clearly a leecher.

Other than that, I will make every effort to get someone who's downed. I don't see any reason why your teammates shouldn't have revived you under those circumstances...

A good team player knows the value of either an extra gun or cannon fodder... so long as they do not become cannon fodder themselves.

If you were against anything other than Collectors, I am sure they would have tried to revive you, Collectors are terrible enemies who like to get into CQC, making it infinitely more difficult to safely revive a team mate.

It was either too risky for them to even attempt, or they were just terrible people.

Some gamers sacrifice their very humanity to be hard core players. When I became a hard core raider in WoW, I stopped s****** for months at a time, would not leave my bedroom save to eat, at 3am, my family thought I had died at one point, but it was worth it, I became one of the top 10 resto shamans in my realm :) (the point to that was to show you the negative side of gaming, and how it changes people)

Your "team" were just d***s. Cereally.

Play with people from the board, not only are we all better than any randoms you'll meet pugging it, we're not complete jackasses too.

I always go for the revive, unless it's just not possible or safe to. Even if my teammate goes down on the other side of the map, I'll make an effort to get them.

Now, if a teammate is a complete liability, going down 5 times a wave right in the middle of huge spawns (*cough*every Shadow ever*cough*), I'm eventually going to stop making an attempt to revive you however.

I like it when people do this, I do it myself, it just irritates me when the dead player does not mash the "a" button to give me enough time to get there, after running through the entire map and every enemy there...

But did you own a poop bucket?

It is one of the keys to being a hardcore gamer.

Do you have a job?
Do you have a significant other?
Do you poop in anything other than a bucket?

If you can answer yes to any of those questions, then you are not a hardcore gamer.
