7/10 - 7 and a half rounded down...

It's a damage reduction power, which in itself makes it very useful on higher difficulties... but additionally it can be used to cause biotic explosions, up to 4 times without recasting it... sadly though, when you do re-cast it, it can have freakishly long Cool Down. Its a huge step up on biotic orbs in terms of offensive power though, that's for sure, but I don't primarily use it as an offensive means. Still, its a diverse enough power that it can be used offensively with debuffing or defensively.

7/10 - at worst, its a passive reduction power for a caster, that doesn't reduce cooldown of other powers..

6. It's a damage reduction power that doesn't affect cooldowns. That's kind of neat. Offensively though, they don't give any passive bonuses. The seeker throw is affected by lag, and it's the Collector's only means of detonating his own biotics. Couple that with the ridiculous cooldown on them, and they're kind of.. eh.

My problem with the power is that the swarms aren't very strong detonators, and as a result, the long cooldown doesn't end up feeling worth it. I think that Rank 5b should've had a "Detonate" evolution similar to Throw.

However, like Kirin said, 40% DR at no cooldown cost is pretty good. 7/10.

Also, after using the Collector again last night, I wish I had given Dark Sphere a 9. It's probably the best biotic primer in the game thanks to that huge radius.

I knew there was a reason why I thought his BEs were so weak.. I stopped using him cause of that, it was just icing on the cake. Sphere's bugginess, travel time, and long cooldown just doesn't make up for the damage it does, for me anyways. good for killing unshielded mooks, that's about it. it's a biotic Recon Mine that primes instead of debuffs and can only hit 3 targets with the detonation, which really holds it back.
Come to think of it, I rather wish I had posted this in the Dark Sphere thread...

oh well, on topic: crappy for detonating, good for DR. 6/10

I'm very sorry to hear that.

by itself it seems mediocre but i find it amazing on the collector who happens to be the only guy who has them. true they dont offer any passive bonus, make really weak biotic explosions, and are bad off host, but the 40% dr compensates for going full ascension mode.

coupled with warp rounds, dark channel, a csmg or ppr, ascension mode, and full weapon damage on passives, the collector becomes a beastly dps weapons platform with a great dodge

i say 8/10 although its just because it synergizes well

I'm the only one who rated it a 10 or a 9 lol. I love damage reduction, and this DR has no penalties and can set off biotic explosions, do a lil damage, and slow stuff down. It's a great power to compliment his dark sphere/channel, and greatly increases his survivability.

The current leading number is 6/10, but Barrier and Fortification have 6.6 and 6.7. What?

Forget the long casting time and weak detonations. It gives 40% DR with no power speed penalty. Sure, the other armor powers give things like modest melee and power damage bonuses, but again, no power penalty.

8/10.

bump.

I remember when these used to get over one hundred votes easily. Now they'll probably never break 50.
