This is probably a noob question but

Never use gel, so all the extra ones you find give you XP.

Do all the little fetch quests you see.

Interact with EVERYTHING.

The bolded part is wrong. Even if you have used medigel the machines/boxes will still give you the experience accorded by difficulty. Thus the true trick is if you are playing on anything lower than Insanity:

1. Find the medigel dispenser or box. Do not click on it.

2. Switch to Insanity diffuiculty.

3. Pick up the medigel.

4. Lower the difficulty to what you were before.

This has worked through all the characters I have created, one for each romanceable person. (Yes, even Jacob, that sack dog crap)

an import

I think that is what he's missing.

This. I started as a Level 38 ME2 import in ME3, hit 60 just before Cit 3

I agree that with an imported character you are going to reach high levels (58 seems to be my constant)

but i dont think you can reach lvl 38 in mass effect 2...

was that a typo?

Smartass? Your level carries over if you play a second ME2 playthrough IIRC.

^You where being serious...

hmm

well
in mass effect ONE the original limit is 50, which gets increased to 60 by unlocking the achivement you get for completing the game once

IN mass effect 2 the limit is 30, always has been, if you import a char from me1 you can get up to a lvl 5 or 6 char IIRC

me3s limit is 60 for single player and 20 for multiplayer.
it allows full import of me2s levels, a level 30 char imported to me3 stays lvl 30 and can level up to 60.

Mass Effect 1, 1st playthrough with dlc will get you to 50, level 50-60 is brutal, you may not hit 60 in 2nd playthrough. Mass Effect 2, as was said, 30 is 30, no matter how many times you play, if you do most of game, you'll hit 30 with no problem. Mass Effect 3, with no dlc and doing everything, level will be mid 50's, with dlc and doing everything (or most), there is no way you won't hit level 60.

^Said dlc for me1 is bring down the sky..

pinnacle station wasnt necessary but IIRC PS has the abillity for infinite exp due to how it works so lvl 60 WITH pinnacle station should be easy.

as for me3 i ALWAYS hit lvl 58 without dlc and starting with an me2 imported lvl 30 char.

There a difference with xp points with difficulty level? Trying to get all achievements in me1, started on easy, hit 50, did 2nd on hardcore, hit 58 and speed running through insanity, i hit level 60 (i'm over half finished, its a chore killing everything).
