SuperVegito2487Posted 5/4/2012 6:37:05 PM | Yeah i used yougamers to check my specs for mass effect 3 (graphics card only my cpu is a car for michael schumaucer)... oddy enough it claims that i can run it at recommened settings... only barely yes but i can..
screenshot http://img1.uploadscreenshot.com/images/orig/5/12412214310-orig.jpg
apparently that seems like i can run it well at max visual settings... problem is i cant. I can run it fairly at second best resolution (my native resolution is 17 inch 1920-1024, which si therefore also max resolution) with all other crap closed (antialiasing).. that i can run... by far not as smooth as my dad, and not even as smooth as my 360 version (itsmy dads copy im borrowing)
I just want to know why i get this reading... do i need some software?? does yougamers lack info?
im fairly certain its not the website bein g completely wrong and i wont have you let me check sites such as systhem requirements becase that crap said i wouldnt be able to run saints row 3 at minimum settings (GPU ALWAYS GPU)... yet i can run it at same settings as this. --- Tendo: Pain is an alias that goes for all Six of us. JumalaccaPosted 5/4/2012 10:55:35 PM | Honestly, it could be a number of factors. Best way to find out is simply to monitor your system. Check your temperatures when you're playing the game (especially if you're on a laptop). If your GPU gets too hot, your performance will suffer for it.
You've got more than enough RAM and your CPU's more than capable, so I'd be looking at your GPU's specs and maybe any tweaks you can do in your card's configuration. But my money would be on it overheating. --- http://youtu.be/kenbLJ7Q1yQ - Skyrim Shuffling Parody http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADiZws7ncoA - Thrillerborn Dance Vid |
SuperVegito2487 (Topic Creator) Posted 5/5/2012 6:33:34 AM | ^Very likely... however i use a temperature scanner... i dont think its the best but the temperature stays within a margin of 30 celsius.
but yeah thats likely... anything to do about that? --- Tendo: Pain is an alias that goes for all Six of us. GT SuperVegitoFAN |

If that GPU is 30C while playing ME3 I'll be amazed. Mine (560TI) sits around 30C normally and goes up to 40C when playing ME3. Only thing you can do about overheating is make it cooler. Ensure good ventilation (no dust), keep it out of the sun, keep it in a cold room, get a bigger fan and *some* towers (can't remember which, sorry) work better with the case off for cooling (which usually isn't how it works, but it's something to do with having bad airflow). --- http://youtu.be/kenbLJ7Q1yQ - Skyrim Shuffling Parody http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADiZws7ncoA - Thrillerborn Dance Vid |
Delta123456789Posted 5/5/2012 6:44:46 AM | Sorry to cut in but is there anything I can do if I am getting temperature issues? The game cuts off at the end of multiplayer missions and the fan seems to be working hard. Anything you can do to stress it less? The laptop probably just isn't designed for this. --- "An RTFM error has occurred. Please try again later" - Me |
SuperVegito2487 (Topic Creator) Posted 5/5/2012 7:20:37 AM | ^^I said MARGIN...
because each time i tell what numbers it is people freak out...
alright here it is.
complete standby, just running.
45-50
and when under severe pressure it goes up towards and hits 80 which is what i ment by a margin (interval) of 30.
^There is something called underclocking but im not gonna use that myself. --- Tendo: Pain is an alias that goes for all Six of us. GT SuperVegitoFAN |

Oh right I'm with you now. Hit up your GPU's site and see what it's supposed to be running at, but 80C seems too hot. A quick google search confirmed as much (80 is where you should start to worry). Nothing you can do except improve cooling, as far as I know. Lower settings would help but it sounds like that's not a desired outcome. A better GPU? Sounds like the overheating is what's causing the issue anyway.

Find ways to cool your laptop. I don't know much about that so I can't help you. --- http://youtu.be/kenbLJ7Q1yQ - Skyrim Shuffling Parody http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADiZws7ncoA - Thrillerborn Dance Vid |
