Leveling is slow from 50 to 60.

Doing the Storm Legion exp zones and from 50-51 took me maybe 6-8hours, and 51-52 9hours, and 52-53 about 9-11 hours.

So about 5-6 days to max out from level 50. NOT bad, but they really need to up EXP drop from baddies.

Or the quests. I mean, I can't be the only one who doesn't mind the CARNAGE quests, but would prefer to simply do the story quests instead of stopping every couple of minutes to kill 16 of X.

I feel your pain, but there is a trick.

Join a raid and defend the post in the new level 60 zone.
It takes 2 hours to level from 50 to 51.

For 52 to 53, you have to go to the high zones.
The two level 50 zone gives 30k xp per story quest.
The high level zone gives 60k.

There is no shortcut after 54, because the highest zone gives only 70k.
But the two early level 50 zones are really crap.

I got to 60 without finishing the quest lines in all of the zones. Specifically I never finished Kingsward, barely entered Morban, and not a thing in Steppes or Ashora. I tried to primarily quest - and I tried to get all the carnages out of the way as I hit them. I did a few warfronts and conquests, and any zone events like Volan or Fortress Defense in those high level zones once I was 59. I never used xp vials. It just snuck up on me, really. Fortunately I still have a ton of planar attunement to unlock, so it's worth it to keep working on those (as well as for rep).

They did, buy XP potions. I feel that is their answer if you feel it is too slow.

But how I did it was run some random dungeons, doing IA, along with the questing, throw in some random PvP. The rewards from the wins are nice bonuses and the blue loot also helps out a bit. I'm not a big PvP fan and didn't even try doing a match until i was 55 or 56. But once I found a decent heal spec and dmg spec I'm enjoying PvP. Certain maps better then others but it also offers a break from questing.

Just enjoy the damn game. Who cares about your actual level?

I hit lvl 50 two days ago and I'll clear all the Telaria areas first. I have to wait for my friends to catch up :p

Mobs have a bit too much health and makes it feel really grindy.

Carnage and IA's are just number type of quests. Only quest line I had fun with was in Eastern Holdings. Now that was awesome.
