Why won't the mic on my PX3 work ?

#1kkTheKiller42Posted 12/25/2011 5:10:05 AM
So I just got a Turtle Beach PX3 as gift today..

and I set up, but the thing is, I could hear the game sound (which is great BTW)

but the program Turtle Beach USB won't appear in Audio Device Settings

and my friends can't hear me at all.

Any tips ?

Also I use HDMI that works as the Video and Audio.

Yea...

doesn't say anything about setup if you use HDMI as both Audio and Video.

plus it's depicted as using the original PS3 audio cables (which I don't have or cannot find)

I have PX21's but last time I had this problem I had to wiggle my damn composite cable around just to get sound to play through both ears. Either need new mic or new Cable not sure. For me anyway.

My friend uses PX21's with an HDMI and he can only hear chat with his.

Only connection I see is with HDMI. Is there any special adapter or something you may need? I would need one for my headset to use an HDMI cause the plugs it comes with are Standard Audio cables. Still sounds fantastic of course.

Check audio multi out settings?

Dumb question but is your mic muted? And if these are anything like my PX21's they should have their own chat, bass, game, mic on/off, and an expander switches. If it does is chat volume turned all the way down?

I set chat to On

I can hear myself in my mic, but others can't hear me.

That's my problem.

I guess I'm going to have to find those old cords... (-_-)

I just got my PX21s a few weeks back, so I'm here to save the day! I hope... Idk if yours is wireless and if that changes hook-up instructions slightly.

First off, you DO need the composite cables despite you playing via HDMI connection. Find that, or buy a new one for three dollars or something (Remember the cables have been the same since PS1, LOLwin).

Anywho, if yours came with a wire that has a green port on one end and then the white and red audio connectors on the other, grab that and connect the white and red with the white and red from the composite cables. After connecting, plug them into your AV input on your HD tv (Don't worry about the yellow since you're playing via HDMI). After that, plug the green part into your headset.

Go to Audio settings on your system and make sure Multi-Audio Output (Which defaults to OFF) is set to ON. Then, go to Accessory settings, and then down to Manage Bluetooth Devices. Doing all of that had me ready to go, but since yours is wireless, I'm sure it's slightly different.

I just found a link for you to watch if you need any extra guidance. Good luck!

Thanks !

I found my old cords and plugged into "Audio Output" in my TV

and when I go to Audio Device Settings, "Turtle Beach PX3" doesn't show up as a headset.

What gives ?
