Frustration- Answers from Good Players.
Hey guys, Im wondering if anybody has some tips on how to do good, when things are not going so well; having an off night. So I am sitting at a 1.2 K/D but I hop on tonight and things went horrible, most games I probably didnt even go positive. The spawns were so against me, often I'd find myself dying within 5 seconds of my spawn, that's just not right. -_- Is this still an issue that they haven't fixed for PS3? Like Is it better for Xbox now? And I seem to be dying really fast, like within the blink of an eye. It is especially frustrating in gunfights that I know I should have won, like I got the jump on someone but still lost. Could that be due to my connection, even though it says I'm on full bars? Or are guns just stronger in this game, because things were not like this at all in BO, not quite this quick. I watch commentators on youtube, and it just doesn't seem like we're playing the same game, or with the same guns, because the kills and gameplays they can get just don't seem realistic to the game. Anyways I'd really appreciate some feedback and advice from some of you awesome players out there. Thanks!
I'm not a great player and your K/D is just slightly higher than mine but I have off nights as well. It took a serious effort from me to raise my K/D (I had to catch up over 900 kills) but my best advice is just to take some time away. The more frustrated you get the worse you play.
Some factors are just uncontrollable such as bad spawning luck and lag among others.
Well, I don't think I'm a great player, but I have raised my KDR a lot since I first started. I remember when it was around .585:1, and now it is up to around .94:1.
I don't know how much you've played the game, but a silencer really helps you learn the maps. Campers and snipers won't see you when you shoot, so you can catch them when they are unaware of your presence. This will help you learn all of the sniping and camping spots on each map.
Be aware, but not too aware. By that, I mean, check each corner, but not too much. I used to check every pathway like I was a paranoid person, and that would take my attention from he more populated areas simply because I was afraid that some dude would run down that pathway and kill me. Make sure you just check the areas that are mostly populated first, and if you are able, check the other areas. You will get killed when that random guy runs down that pathway that you no longer check, but it will happen less than it did when you didn't check the area people are always crawling out of.
Well, that's just my advice. You can take it for whatever it's worth.

kill before you are killed.
The only thing iPads do that other tablets can't is prove you can afford an iPad.
might be lag or your internet. I have nights where i get bent over some bs like you mentioned. i.e gunfights you should win 90% of the time and u lose most of them. And I have come to the conclusion it is lag or my internet, even if I am light green or dark green.
If this happens I hop around lobbies hopping to land in a crap tier lobby, and if I cant do that I usually quit.
PLAY WITH PARTIES!
This is the #1 way to raise your KD. If you play solo all day every day, your KD will drop.

Thanks for the comments. I am trying to find people to play with but, it tends to be a little difficult to find cool, good players who are on consistently on the PS3. But does anyone know if guns were made stronger? And what's this I hear that from close range it take 2-4 bullets to kill? I thought it was almost always supposed to take 5 bullets? And are there any Pro players out there, or anybody with a 1.5 K/D or higher? I'd really like to hear about your style of play.
IMO, it's going to be hard to determine exactly what areas to concentrate on without seeing gameplay. If I were you, try watching a few of your games that didn't lag and try to determine how you were killed and if there was something you could have done differently to avoid it.
Was it bad aim?
Was it truly a bad spawn?
Did you not check a corner and/or not pay attention to your surroundings (a nearby teammate dies and you didn't notice it, switch in spawns, etc.)?
The best couple of tips I can give are the following:
1) Try to learn the spawns and be aware of where people are spawning. You obviously can't rely on a UAV all the time to determine this, but you can make a mental note of where your teammates are spawning. If they are spawning on the other side of the map, you can usually assume that there will be enemies nearby. You obviously don't want to run around wildly or try to capture an objective if this is the case as you'll usually end up facing off against multiple enemies.
2) You don't have to open fire on an enemy or chase down an enemy every time you see one. If you're too far away or if they're rounding a corner, hold fire and determine if you should follow them. I sometimes see people spray at enemies as they're turning around the corner and then complain when they turn that same corner and see the enemy prone waiting for them. I've also been killed because someone behind me has an itchy trigger finger and ends up warning the person I've trying to chase down.
You do die a lot faster in this game compared to black ops. The spawns are kind of screwy so you always have to watch your six. The game won't hesitate to spawn an enemy behind you around a corner you just went around.

My k/d is 1.5 but that doesn't mean I'm good, and all of the stuff below is based on my impressions for TDM.
Practice your aiming, learn to either hit headshots consistently, or aim slightly low to compensate for when you flinch. Strafe while shooting, practice both to the left and right, or stay with cover as much as possible. Avoid open areas and death zones. If facing 2 enemies, concentrate on killing one first.
I don't know if this is what you are doing - but when you spawn, don't sprint forward, look to see where your team is on the map, l would turn away from them, and expect the enemy to come from there, if you hear your teammates death cries, turn back and take care of business. With practice this will take no time and can be used when you have no clue where the enemy is. Also - you can use teammates as scouts, follow a mobile teammate at a decent distance, when he dies - kill the person who killed them, they are probably reloading. Don't reload after a kill automatically.
MW3 has really bad spawns, IW and Treyaerch have different ways they approach this - for the most part the spawn system in MW3 is Treyaerch's way, it usually puts you close to the most successful person on the team. Also - if you were on a kill streak, it will also put you next to the person that killed you to give you some redemption. The problem with that is there is usually a 'group' spawn around the most successful person - and that person is usually flanking the enemy's position and in the thick of things. Each team's position is frequently moving around very quickly.
Finally - if you are mobile, pre-aim in obvious camping spots and flank, flank, flank. Taking an enemy from the side/behind is so much easier than head on. If there is a choke point on a map that the enemy has covered, do not run into it, FLANK.
